A look around my new iPad Photobooth set up. Equipment and software is:
The stand is a Dracast DLS-805, and the light is a Dracast LED180 Halo...iPad Pro 10.5 (7MP front camera), and the case is made by Joy Factory (they have different configurations..i used an aXtion bold with MPS and magconnect tripod mount), software is Snappic

So, I'm a photographer and already have all the lights, camera, backdrop and stand. Do I need an ipad to run the program, or can I just use the ipad to pick the photo set up and the DSLR can take the actual photo?

For me, the whole point in using an ipad is to NOT print...but that's just me. People still print. I just think the general public is way into just receiving them on their phone/digital now.

One of the BEST companies i have EVER dealt with. ZERO issues with the app. Certainly if you use the print option you are inviting other possible things to go wrong....hooking up to a server/printer/computer, etc, but they are there to help out pretty much 24 hours a day. I had an issue at one event (of course it was my fault) and they responded in 5 minutes...on a saturday night!

HI there, so you got me motivated and excited about adding this to my business (currently Bartender and margarita machine owner). I had almost everything in fact, a sony nex 5 dslr hybrid camera (simple enough point and click) with needless to say more power than I'd need. I also have 2 unused ipads (rather old 4-6 years probably) and So I started purchasing accessories. I got to the basics where I need to connect my ipad-dslr. I know this isn't your set up but I was questioning the quality on the FRONT FACING IPAD camera? I see that is your set up and ultimately it looks like I might need to go that route for the ease of using the app and 1 device. So my question is after all that, Do you get any push back from customers on just using an ipad? Do you believe your photos are up to par with a competitor who might offer DSLR set up? I really appreciate your honesty and response I definitely do not mean any insult by my question. I just thought I'd need something more fancy but maybe i'm overthinking it. I also did a quick check through the year the front facing camera is pretty much always the same...around 1.2MP. I know you mentioned the lighting might boost up the photos which I'm all for just wanted your feedback. Thanks so much!

You need the iPad Pro....7mp camera instead of 1.2. That makes a big difference. Next thing is plenty of lighting..next thing after that is setting your ISO and white balance as best as possible inside the app and not using it on AUTO. All those things into account, the pics are pretty good for what it is. No, it's not a DSLR, and no I don't print...but I also don't charge high prices that would require those things. For me, it's an add-on to my DJ service, so I charge very little for it.

Light goes on top of tripod, screws on...ipad mount connects to the light (it's a standard cold shoe connector)

I supplement lighting with two light wands on tripod stands. For a faceplate you’d have to buy a pre made set up from a company that makes photo booth packages.

I THINK yes, you can add your own digital props...though I don't personally know how to do it. You can also customize the templates with your own backgrounds...

Thanks for the video! So I noticed the distance it captures seems kinda narrow. Do you happen to know how many feet wide "roughly" the pic takes? For example would it come out pretty good with a 8 foot wide backdrop where more than 3-4 people would fit in the frame?

I wouldn't make it that difficult...Personally, either do the iPad Pro or a DSLR tether...anything more you could be asking for technical difficulties that would make the whole thing not worth it.

No. You can use the template that you had for an event for your next event simply by duplicating it. It’s super easy and takes me about 2 min to get my next event ready.

Well...it wouldn't FIT inside the ring like the 10.5 ipad does, no. It's way too big. Honestly, i went to the apple store with this ring light and had every intention of getting the 12.9, but it looked rediculous...way too big. Even just for everyday use that thing is too big...and this is coming from someone with a 120" tv

I’ve got an iPad mini and don’t have any of the options you’ve got on your 10.5 inch iPad. When open my iPad mini, all I get is a screen full of various stupid, distorted pictures of me, only one of which is “normal.” There are no way to get the various extras you get on your iPad so it’s pretty useless and much easier to use the selfie option on the camera.

as close as possible...usually approximately 4-6 feet away I would say? Just enough so you can squeeze about 6 or 7 people into the frame if they want to

@@gabrielaestrada1794 Kids are a challenge...if they aren't tall then I tell the parents they have to pick them up or grab a chair...if they are almost tall enough I'll just lower the tripod a little....I don't sweat it though, it's really an adult focused experience. I also don't let kids touch the screen....adults only

@@gabrielaestrada1794 I just did a bunch of kids pics last night (july 4th party)....it was easy to lower my tripod all the way down to their height. And just back up for the adults. You need to be quick with it, but that tripod i recommend is super easy to use.

How’s the Ipad get to text?

Through the program and your WIFI/hotspot. If you don't have any signal at the time of the event they get "pushed" once you are in a signal area.
