I have iOs 14. When I put the dongle with lightning connector into my ipad mini 5 it does not say import or import all. It says "No photos to import". I know there are several jpeg photos and one mp4 video. Help.

Oh my this is one crapy way of import, how about having a way to show enhanced pictures.maby a way to mark multible and look at them and then import the once i want. The ipad inteface is still one of the clumsiest things i have ever used. Thanks for showing this, but i was hoping for more from this device. How can they do such a flawless computer and also make phones and ipads that sucks so bad.

On the high chance of making myself look like a total technical idiot - I'm going to share my experience. I too, could not get the import option to show after plugging in my new SD card reader to my 12.9 3rd Gen iPad Pro. I have drone footage I wanted to transfer from mini SD card. I placed my mini SD into the adapter, placed SD adapter into card reader, went into photos on iPad, plugged my card reader into iPad, no import option popped up - my husband heard me calling Apple support (after Googling and watching this video to still not find the import option) and he walked in and turned my SD card around in the USBC-C to SDcard reader and BAM... Import option magically popped up. 🤦 I had the SD in backwards. 🙄 There was everything I needed, I selected all photos and videos and started import. Moral of this long, embarrassing story, make sure you have your SD card where the gold connectors are actually in the card reader. Geeze. Happy Tuesday! #icantbetheonlyone

I have a question I just got a new digital camera from fb marketplace thats a upgrade from my old one. This digi cam is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ10 and when I used the sd card to try and import photos and videos to my iphone 13 for some reason only the photos will show up and NOT the videos. I tried to do a different method were you go to the built in app “Files” on the iphone but only getting to see the photos ONLY and NOT the videos. But from my older digital camera which is a SONY Cyber-shot the sd card I used with its photos and videos I can see BOTH my photos and videos to be imported from the older cameras sd card to my iphone 13. Im so confused and need assistance because these videos from the Panasonic digital camera are clear and crisp with better volume to understand what I am saying for the video.

I have an app that sends my photos to my iPad wirelessly. That will stop the wear and tear on that input. I only need this for video but here's my problem. I read that you can transfer large files with this adaptor. Someone said it will break down the quality of the photos in order to transfer them. For example from MB to KB. So if it's breaking down photos what will it do to videos? What's your take? Does it break down the quality or not?

I Have an Ipad pro with the lightning cable, the year before they came out with the new port. I can't seem to get the import option to pop up. I've read the comments and see a few other people have had the same issue. Is there another button somewhere or a workaround?

@@IamSoEasy47 so I bought a new card reader and I did see it pop up when I plugged it in. However the lightning port seems to be worn out and it continually disconnects. I did try a few file transfers. I managed to get my video into iOS files folder but can’t seem to get it to download to I cloud so it’s readily available in my photos folder. I also tried to put the files into iMovie but they only seem to be available when the device is plugged in like external storage. It was really slow going.

My camera puts photos and videos into two different sub folders within the DCIM main folder. When I use the adapter with my iPad Pro it just shows the disk volume. It doesn’t display the DCIM folder nor its sub folders. How do you drill down into the disk volume to get to the photos and videos?

I tried looking at my dash cam footage but the photos app didn’t show any of the video clips. It seen a device was connected but nothing when I clicked on it. I had to go to the Files app and then it showed the sd card and the video clips from my dash cam.
