I saw Bungle throw down a pitch perfect cover of Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend" back in 1995...it was the only encore song they did that night...OMFG as if the crowd wasn't moshing hard enough throughout the whole show before...we all went ballistic. One of the best moments of live music I have ever witnessed. This here VH cover is epic as well...love, love, love it...more please.

Nah, not really. The double bass patterns aren't very fast. The guy playing them, Dave Lombardo, has played Silent Scream live before, and thats like constant 195bpm 16ths on the double bass. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqemk6aJi5eYrMU Back when this first released though, I'm sure it was pretty fast. And Alex always has some remarkably tasty drumlines, but he wasn't the most skilled double bass player. I love his playing in Van Halen, though, especially the (single) bass drum work in Panama---its just freaking perfect.

@@craigharrison5406 This isn't 272bpm---its like 150 at best. 270bpm is super speed death metal territory. Only guys like Kollias or Inferno can play at that speed. Heck, Lombardo in his prime topped out at 248bpm (Necrophobic). Its very fast for the genre, yes.

My original comment wasn't meant as a challenge to metal drummers, I was just appreciating the beat of this track. BTW I play guitar not drums so a lot of the techinical drum jargon...I'm clueless about.

I remember I was 23 living in Sacramento, Ca -- at the time in some shitty 2 sometimes 3 man band. My drummer who I didn't know much about at the time ask me if I liked the song "something something can't remember" and I was like "wtf?", and he says "Epic"? He was younger and knew I would know of this hit. I said I loved that song and hell yes I remember. Want to meet Patton, the lead singer from Faith no more? That night I was being handed kits, amps, wtf ever else was coming out of a trailer to help Mr Bungle and return given a beer I faked drinking because I had to drive us back home from Sam's Town that night. I don't even remember my drummer's name atm, that was some years ago lol But if I did and Mike saw it he would remember, I am sure. It was an epic evening/night. I am 47 now :P

Also Bungle in Brooklyn in Feb 2020 (right under the pandemic wire) and have seen Bungle in the 90s and 2000s... Seen a lot of Patton projects live - my favorite band of his is probably Fantomas. Patton is one of the most interesting musicians out there so you're in for a treat discovering his catalog. Also check out Tomahawk, General Patton vs The X-Ecutioners, Peeping Tom, Mondo Cane & Lovage.

Scott is one of the great rhythm guitarists of all time. Now, I don't think he could play Eddie's leads, but there's nothing Eddie put to record riff-wise that IMHO is beyond his capabilities.

Ask anyone, Scott's known as a superb rhythm player and has one of the fastest right hands out of anyone. The early Anthrax albums proves it.

Mr Bungle is a group of FKN Monsters of talent. Trey is a beast. Trevor Dunn is a machine. Mike is the true definition of a conduit. Lombardo is THE DRUM GOD, and Scott Ian is a legend. You can tell they are all having a blast playing together. I hope they keep moving forward after these Easter Bunny tours.

From a die hard fan of DLR VH- I have to say that this was incredible. I don’t think I’ve heard a loss of control cover previously, but when you look at women and children first, it’s probably the most difficult song to cover I would think. Bravo fellas

WOW!!!...total balls to the wall deep cut from Van Halen and these guys nailed it. One of the best VH covers I've heard in a while, the vocalist sounded like an early 80's David Lee Roth here. 👏👏👏
