is it true to say that the thinner the lcd cutting wire, the less chance of damaging the touch layer during separation?
@FIXDPHONES Жыл бұрын
Yes. You just have to make sure you start in the right layer and stay there the whole time

What type of glue are you using to in that gun? thanks

Great to see this level of repair but seems there was a few imperfections left on the glass at the right-hand side. Just wish companies made it easier to replace components rather than resort to this level of precision. Nice video though
@Timhaah2 жыл бұрын
That’s not how it works lol…even if “companies” made it easier to replace components people would still resort to doing this type of repair because it saves a lot of money in the long run. Even if apple sold genuine screens (which they do now) it would still be a lot cheaper refurbishing the front glass….
@KennethPaul2 жыл бұрын
@@Timhaah True, it's a personal thing, I would prefer a factory manufactured display, and I know even those aren't always perfect but that's my preference, I know many would rather consider a lower cost and equally effective repair like this. At the scale of manufacturing though there isn't any reason manufacturers couldn't lower the cost of components other than their own desire to make it cost prohibitive, which I'm sure is there goal, allow it on paper but in practice they know few will utilise the high cost official parts route

Oh man! I just say to the daughter of a friend that i could try to repair she's iPhone 11 and now realize that the screen cannot be replaced... is that right? I thought it would be like iPhone 8 plus..... And you show a lot of machines to do the job right... temperature controlled beds, vacuum ovens, etc.. and thought a microscope is enough.. Your job is amazing. thanks.

replacing just the glass is very complicated, but if you dont mind shilling out about $50 for a knockoff digitizer + screen, it can be done with just the right screwdrivers. also you are gonna have to deal with a notification from your settings notifying you that the screen is not genuine.
@nicksocu3 жыл бұрын
@@ImJustCj How does the repair shop on the street deal/get rid of the notification?
@jasonharris38732 жыл бұрын
@@nicksocu They don’t get rid of the notification. You have to go through apple or insurance to get a genuine screen.

I see your laminating pressure is 87 kPa. What is the number above it?
@FIXDPHONES Жыл бұрын
The number the machine is set to. Basically the lower number is showing what the machine is actually doing where the upper corresponding numbers are the presets for the machine to be at or get to.

Awesome video! Is that a sponge your using to clean the screen at 03:00? Ive been using eye glass cloth but I keep seeing small scratches on the screen after cleaning. Not sure why. Thanks!
@FIXDPHONES2 жыл бұрын
It’s basically a magic eraser, scratches are typically from small shards that become stuck in the cloth when cleaning. I go through several cloths for each screen to avoid scratches.
