You need heat in order to: 1/ Soften the glue. 2/ Make the glass easier to break. If u don’t have heat gun, try to borrow one, if not, use a hairdryer, it might work,,, but I strongly recommend using a Heat-gun.

1) Glass removal approximately 40 minutes. 2) Preparation of the surface for gluing ~ 30 minutes. 3) Glue drying time 45 minutes. Total repair time up to 2 hours.

You sometimes need to scrape away old glue, along the metal edge , that goes around the edges of the glass.. A square tip flat scalpel is great for this.. But be CAREFUL! Also beware, that narrower scraping tools might pop into small holes, or into cracks, between where warious parts of the phone meet, and you might cut a flexcable or worse. Also be careful to get ALL small glass bits away from the metal back plate.. When you think youre done, clean the plate with rubbing alcohol, and carefully run your fingertips over the surface, to feel for "high points".. especially around the pertruding camera lens "bezels".. glass bits LOVE to hide there..

Question: CAN you replace a cracked screen and leave this back glass broken? Just say I dont care? Someone has one and screen/glass broke, Apple said 300$ not worth fixing, brand new iphone 11. Best Buy told me they can replace the screen for 199 + tax, same day. oh and btw the back glass is cracked? oh we dont replace that the same day. But can you just do the front screen only? yes. Youre sure? yes. Maybe what sign some paper saying I understand its cracked and dont care? Correct. How about that? Can Mr. Fix it answer? leave it cracked, put tape over it? or a screen protector and just leave it cracked? All I know is when they got home best buy wanted $300. I asked: Cant they replace just the front screen? no answer, because they were upset at me because this cheap piece of junk Apple product was made to break and waste your money? Anyone who's done carpentry work for 30 years or taken woodshop in high school with Mr. Walker, knows thats a nail punch

Many of my customers just want to do the screen, but actually, the back glass is a "load bearing structual part" on many iPhone models.. (some more than others), but I'd say, that from 12 and up.. the back metal plate is so thin, that you NEED to change the back glass ASAP, if broken! Without it, and with continued "abuse", like what broke the glass in the first place, the (sandwich / double decker style design) mainboard will end up faulty due to broken soldering or the phone will twist, and BGA chips will come loose, resulting in all sorts of annoying errors, rebooting, or not booting at all..

@@Chryslerdude so then this should be a class action lawsuit against apple right? they make the phone with the intent of it breaking and not being fixable, have to buy another phone, this is a scam as bad as it gets, right? no reason at all to put thin GLASS on the back, you say its structural and not cosmetic glass??? Apple refuses to change out the rear glass, their policy they told me is that its risky, pieces could lodge in the phone. so every purchaser should be entitled to a full refund including any repair costs they paid, and keep the phone

I called several of my govt reps including congressman to say this should be illegal, the guy said sir you want the congressman to go with you to the apple store and ask to have it repaired? is that what you are asking? I mean how stupid can some people get, I not only said no such thing I made it clear what the point was, is there such a law or if not then make one? the idiot could not keep up. we do not have a representative government. Apple is so big it shapes the tech industry and influences alot, they cannot be allowed to scam the public. but the rep is probably paid off by ? to do nothing. This is why the nations economy is in ruins now.
