Thank you also… I have an iPhone X The method that work for me was the massage with paper towel and then volume button up down and side button and Wala. It came on. I recently also had iPad go black screen and I went through many ways to get the screen back on, but ended up going to Apple to get it looked at, and they had it back on quite quickly through their methods. I’m wondering would this method work for iPad as well.

Thank you for your help. The first solution worked. I got a message on the screen telling me I had to wait 5 minutes. As I waited, I tapped the screen and saw the phone was counting the minutes. So, when countdown was done, I was prompted to use my password to open phone. I did and I have my phone back. Thanks for the great help.

what if the reasons for the black screen are due to water damage? does that change things or will these methods still work? im waiting overnight for the phone to dry itself out, but if i am still having issues i am going to try these methods. im scared that it wont work tho since my problems are due to water damage

My phone was fully charged and was working in my car with apple car play but screen was blank, so I knew it was working. If you have apple car play you may want to use that to see if your phone is fully charged and operational. After third time doing the volume up down and holding side button got APPLE logo and now working properly. Had to hold main button for what felt like at least one minute. Thanks for posting this....
