Ceramic Shield is a great choice by Apple though, even with it being more vulnerable to scratches in exchange for durability, a lot iPhone owners have tempered glass screen protectors on their phones anyway (that is more scratch resistant), so if your iPhone gets dropped, it's guaranteed the front glass won't break

Replacing the back is WAY harder because of the design of the iPhones. Just like on Android phones it's mostly way harder to replace the front. That's the only reason why the back is so much more expensive.

This has nothing to do with that dude. The prices are so high for the back because of the phone design. For a back replacement you have to replace pretty much the entire phone while the screen can easily be replaced on its own. The iPhone gets opened from the front, while most Android phones are opened from the back. That's why on most Android phones it's the other way around with the display being way more expensive than the back. That's just "by design".

The iphone 12 design puts the glass below the frame , so the drop tests are hitting the frame and not the glass. The glass is stronger this year , which helps. However, scratch tests show similar damage compared to iphone 11.

The front screen survived because the metal side is so slightly raised above the screen and it is absorbing the shock. This is good news for Apple. Htc sensation a phone from 10 years ago had a better design because the glass was actually concaved and the complete phone was was made out fully out of metal. Maybe once day Apple will learn how to make a durable phone by just looking what was done in the past. I had the phone for 5 years never used a case and dropped many many times without breaking anything. On the end the LCD got damaged from the constant passing trough X-RAY on the airport but the phone lasted 5 years.

Let’s not call this science regardless lol. It’s def not. More consistent sure? But the other tests have value too. In that over a phone’s life time, it’ll likely be dropped in a variety of ways if it does get dropped. Diff heights, diff forces, diff situations. I.e. one is a more consistent test of its potential, but the other probably way more real world and what I’d look at since the stress won’t always be in one spot consistently

Let’s the iPhone increase the battery size then it will be fruitful , because 120Hz drains battery quickly and with 5G you can assume, your phone will not last longer as it used to be. My friend bought Oneplus Nord, with 90Hz and he was like, at 90Hz phone battery drains quickly, though the phone has 4000+mah battery. So iPhone has to use smart Display Hz rate, to optimize battery.

Been using one for the last few years - used on my old iPhone X and am currently using one on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, great quality, fab protection, bit thick but if you want to keep your phone pristine then I highly recommend one, not a mark dent or scratch on either phones during the last 4-5 years

I think its the corner/edge drops that are more likely to crack the screen, as the chassis bends on impact.
