I held onto my iPhone 12 Mini until the battery was shot. I got an iPhone 15 Pro and I wasn’t very impressed. The camera always refused to focus no matter what video I watched that claimed to have the fix. The zoom on the iPhone 15 Pro was absolutely unacceptable given its price and the fact that the Pixel 7 Pro’s camera zoom would let me easily read license plates three blocks away - and still retain full clarity! The screen on the iPhone 15 Pro wasn’t much bigger than my Mini at 6.1”, but I ended up selling my iPhone 15 Pro and got a refurbished 13 Mini on Amazon. I paid $350 vs the $1000 I paid for the 15 Pro and I don’t feel like I’m missing a thing. The 13 Mini performs spectacularly, the camera is more than capable for it’s time of release and price point. I’m going to hang onto this 13 Mini and hope that sometime between now and 2028 when the 13 Mini is obsolete that Apple gives us another Mini.

I wish for a 15 Pro mini. I believe that would sell better than the 12/13 minis because customers would feel they were getting a truly no-compromises phone in a small package. Give it all the bells and whistles - 120 Hz refresh, 5x tetra-prism optical zoom, fast charging, the works. Even if it cost more than the 15 Pro, I would buy it without hesitation. I am NOT looking forward to the SE 4, as it is just going to be a weak, compromised large-bezeled regression to 2021.

Upgraded from the XS to a mint condition Product Red 13 Mini back in January. I knew I was swapping my XS this year, as i thought it was about to lose the latest iOS, but its battery health (or lack of it) hastened the upgrade. Using a bumper and MagSafe grip - not a fan of full cases - and have got myself quite a few MagSafe accessories. These include a portable charging stand that I can use on the go, and to trigger Standby Mode when I'm home. Strange to think that this 'Mini' iPhone has the same footprint as my iPhone 7. How times have changed. I’ve seen the pink model for sale recently on Apple’s Amazon Store, if anyone wants one. (Apologies if it has sold out.) Thanks for the content!

I love the older smaller phones but my issue is the battery. I have had constant issues with batteries draining within seconds depending on the environment I’m in. I travel a lot and recently was visiting Machu Pichu at high altitude and my battery drained. I rely on my phone to take photos and I couldn’t take photos of this magical moment. Last night I went up to take photos of the northern lights as I’m living in the northwest territories in Canada. Within five minutes my battery drained because of the cold. I feel like giving up on iPhones because they have become unreliable. Great video, thank you!
@PocketCams8 күн бұрын
I completely understand your frustration! The battery life on older phones can be quite a challenge, especially in extreme conditions. Have you considered using a portable charger for your travels? That worked for me - but it can be a pain. A Magsafe battery was a good option but can be challenging in hot cnditions asd the device can't cool as well

I think you are right to hold off from the upgrade - I always skip 2 refreshes so that upgrading feels noticeable. iPhone 16 will have some AI focused enhancements to the chipset - in the pro version, at least - that will should the upgrade feel significant. One thing that you didn't mention is the screen refresh rate. ProMotion makes a huge difference to how smooth everything feels and hopefully apple will have this across their full line up for the next generation.

That probably the supply chain right now. It’s rare you’re going to find a new one. Local preloved sellers that you can go and view the phone, or reputable refurb online sellers with good ratings offering a warranty is your best bet. About $400 for 128GB seems ok to me.
