Coming from the iPhone 11 Pro Max (which had a beast of a battery), I'm getting better all around battery performance on my Pixel. I'm averaging between 7-9 hrs of sot (heavy user) and the camera is flat out amazing. Haven't taken a single "bad" photo yet.

I’m glad Saf mentioned the problem with the Pixel shutting down apps in the background. I typically listen to KZbin videos while on long commutes and that isn’t possible on the P6. It’s been super buggy for me and the mobile connectivity is pretty poor.

I have the P6P and I love it, came from iP11 PM and I loved that too, but until Apple reinvents the wheel again I'll stick with Android. If the iP14 comes with a hole punch display and a revamped UI I will surely upgrade to that

I have both of these devices. The problem with the 13 Pro Max is that if you take away the stellar battery life the experience is not a lot different from using a 7 or 8 Plus. The Pixel is fun to use and sometimes seems to know what you want to do next before you do.

18:35 I don't fully agree with this, The lg v30 was way ahead of video capabilities and performance than iphones for quite sometime now. You were able to record full uncompressed 10 bit raw on a v30 and would even have an s log to record on it as well, I phones have just recently implemented these features

I'm team pixel, have 6 pro and upgraded from a 4XL. That said, I can understand both of your points on why you feel iphone is best overall. I still really like my pixel 6 pro and I expect it to only get better in time. Google did a good job of improving the experience of the pixel 4 after it's release and I expect the same for the 6. I feel Google will be able to get even more performance out of the camera setup, battery life and general performance of the phone in the updates to come.

As another team pixel fan (2xl, 4 and now 6 Pro) I agree completely with this. I've always avoided Apple products because of the lack of control that Apple allowed. Apple seem to be changing slowly and I too can see why the 13 Pro Max would be regarded as the better phone, but I am absolutely loving my 6 Pro and coming from a Pixel 4 I think the battery life is brilliant.

I enjoyed your review as it covered many areas that concern me. I plan to order the Pixel 6 Pro 512. I finally demoed the P6P at Verizon, and I was impressed with the interface, ease of use, and my favorite, speech-to-text and language conversion. Okay, I like the new UI compared to the dated and boring iOS look. I've been an Apple products consumer since 1983, and I've owned every maxed-out iPhone since the beginning. I am currently running the 12Max, M1 iPad/Apple TV/9 HomePods, 3 Google/NestHub displays, 3 Google cams, and a Sony XRB w/Google/KZbin. While Apple does make the better device in terms of hardware, I can't say the same for their software. Life is excellent when my HomePods, AppleWatch, AirPods Pro, AppleTV, and iPad are all working in sync! The truth is, I have better luck with bolt-on Google devices working more consistently. 🤷‍♂️

The tech chap, how is the Bluetooth connectivity for the iPhone and pixel 6? I have an older phone and the it some times takes a while to connect to a Bluetooth device, where as some times I have to turn Bluetooth off and back on to get it to connect manually go into the Bluetooth option and click the device my self. What about Call screening. since I have picked up my P6Pro my spam calls have gone away... I had the S21Ultra and iphone 11 pro max and was getting 5-10 spam call a day. Its also surprising they didn't talk about the translate feature. When I can travel again I will have a translator in my pocket.

As a Pixel user, I just wanna add on that at mixed/lower lighting conditions, you will start to see video artifacts. Especially when software stabilization kicks in. Also, light sources will flicker. I took short sunset clip just for my IG stories and I wished it came from the iPhone at that point in time. Turning off software stabilization will remove those jankiness but that's up to you whether you wanna sacrifice stability for quality. I just find it strange that the Pixel with the better sensor, performed more inconsistently than the iPhone. Again, these are software things that can be refined. Whether we get that refinement or not is another thing. - I'm generally fine with everything else on this phone. Just thought I'd put it out there in case taking sunset/indoor videos is your thing when choosing a new phone.

That's a little concerning hearing about the Android 12 issues. I've personally had issues with Android 11 on my Moto G100 recently actually. Things like WhatsApp call screens turning on and off when trying to interact with the screen during a call. KZbin sometimes will slowdown and stutter completely, so I would have to close the app and open it to have the right performance watching a video. I'm thinking this is perhaps a Moto G100 issue, maybe Android 11, possibly both?

I would love to see someone introduce third party apps to see what the 6pro really is capable of, seems like most of the issues are software when it comes to camera performance. I hope someone will release what the pixel can do in raw photo and video. I also ordered the pixel because it seems to be much easier to replace the screen and the battery once screen burn in and battery degradation happens.

hm Pixel 6 pro seems to struggle with video changing lighting quite a bit and overcompensates then goes back and forth compared to iPhone, looking at the 6:20 mark, hoping they will improve the video through software as they have always done. I don't know if they downgraded the quality of pixel 3 or my phone was dropped too many times but my Pixel 3 has just too much noise on videos when the lighting is great, cloudy bright day, or even indoors with natural light, it's very odd..

Also very surprised by the battery life. I have 5g turned off and I'm barely getting 4.5 SOT. I have always On display turned off, and not doing anything crazy with the phone such as video recording, editing or anything. All I do is browse social media, maybe open the camera a few times, reply to texts. Really crazy that I can't break 4.5 sot. I'm not even running max brightness. Again, really disappointing given the 5000mAh was such a selling point during pre release.

This is why I ended up selling my 6 Pro and got the 13 Pro. I needed a phone to get me through a whole day and the 13 Pro does the job perfectly. I know I could have gotten the 13 Pro Max but the phone is just simply too big and uncomfortable for me to hold so the 13 Pro is the perfect size for me.

I mean, even Android devices using SC chips are better optimized than Tensor in these departments, at the moment. I just really dislike iOS so I couldn't make the switch. Out of those two the iPhone for me. They're both very good phones and it's great to have the choice. The iPhone battery life dwarfs the Pixel's (GSM arena 121hrs vs 84hr). And it's a shame that the pixel doesn't do full fast charging (that should help longevity but by that time it'll be outdated. The duration for which you get updates is better for the pixel than most android phones. Though Pixels are still behind iPhones for how long OS and security updates are provided). Unfortunately, the Pixel has had a number of issues (some due to android 12). On the plus side there are some good deals from people passing on their second hand Google 6 pro- some of those issues will get ironed out eventually, hopefully. Though another reason why I'm happy to wait to see Google's second attempt next year. With the iPhone's faceID you can unlock a phone with wet fingers or when wearing gloves. Optical finger print scanners can be a pain at times! (I'd prefer faceID AND a physical fingerprint scanner on the back or on the side. I use the Apple watch to unlock when wearing a mask though I use the watch extensively, only drawing out the phone when I need the larger display. I enjoy playing with and customising my android phones, but with the iPhone and the integrated apple watch I can do things faster with iOS (3d touch, widgets, workflow customisations etc) and the key apps I use have better functionality and usability on OS (some of that is android app makers needing to cater for so many hardware variations that they seem to end up not optimising the android version for individual devices). I'm not going to get the iPhone 13 pro though, my iPhone 11 pro max is working perfectly well. And I'm still using android happily (quad DAC, 3.5mm headphone socket, removable storage, excellent battery life, tough and dual screen...) I like the look of the pixel 6 pro. However, I'm skipping the pixel 6 pro with its first gen chip and looking forward to the next year's ai based Snapdragon 8 which looks very impressive, and Google's improvements to its first gen ai chip. It's great having a range of options!

As a person who has been a very long time iPhone user my biggest gripe is the lack of split screen multitasking. If Apple were to open up iOS a bit more adding a few more of the customization features as well as a few more of the productivity features that android has then it would be a near perfect os in my opinion.

I have a pixel 6 and iPhone 12 I was unable to get the 13 due to money constraints but I have been an apple fan boy for a long time. But ever since I picked up the pixel 6 I have been using that as my daily driver and absolutely love it. I haven't had any issues on it other than the occasional finger print reader misslick but other than that I have no complaints. The phone is a 10/10 in my book. Android 12 needs some work but the phone itself is amazing.

I have been always switching phones all the time. I just like tech. I haven't had a phone for more than 6 months (android & iOS) but i got a pixel 4xl for two years now. I had an iPhone 12, a good overall phone but to be honest boring phone so I came back to pixel 4xl and gave the iphone to my brother. So what made me come back to pixel was that with every update it became better and nicer with newer features. I had just received my pixel 6 today and i really like it. It's different in a good way. So as a conclusion i do think they will fix and improve a lot with the future updates (by the way this was written with voice, how cool is that) so i have high hopes for this phone.

Great collab and have to agree with Saf...Had the Pixel 6 Pro and couldn't live with the bad battery life which apparently has to do with the substandard Samsung modem that's in the Tensor chip. Bought a S21U 256GB on Black Friday that has Android 12 and much happier with that device. The 6 Pro is a great device and will get better with updates but the S21U for the price I bought it for is a no brainer.

Have both of these phones. A few times I was ready to box up the pixel but just couldn't send it back. 2 weeks in battery life got way better (not iPhone 13 pro max better). But still around 7 hrs. iPhone just feels like every other iPhone. 120hz I b barely noticed and again just feels like every other iPhone. The weight and width even got more annoying after handling the pixel. The pixel feels refreshing and just a better feel in the hand. But a fan of the new Android but still I can customize things that I want.

Totally agree! Selling my iPhone Pro Max and trying a Pixel 6 Pro…so bored with Apple and the phone is a brick with razor blades attached! If any other phone manufacturer designed a phone like 12 Pro Max, tech KZbinrs would destroy them, but that 🍎 logo saves Apple every time.

I bought the iPhone 13 Pro Max, to replace my older iPhone 7 Plus. The longer battery life is what sold me on the Pro Max, and so far it has not disappointed. It is big and clunky, and quite a bit heavier than my previous phone, but I could go a whole day without charging and there is still over 60% of battery power left.

I've had the iPhone 5s, the iPhone 6s Plus, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and I must admit that they were great devices when it comes to the Smartphone World, BUT.. ever since I've made the switch to Android, the Google Pixel 6 Pro to be exact I feel like a prisoner who has been released into FREEDOM! That being said I love my Google Pixel 6 Pro and don't plan on switching back to Apple anytime soon.

Also can I ask what made you switch? Did you have any issues cause for me my 13 pro overheated so much compared to my 11 and I would constantly lose my WiFi connection 🙃

@@Loverofallthingsliving yes I did have some issues with connection especially after updates on iOS, but the main reason why I switched was simply boredom and wanting to try something new. If you're coming straight from an apple device and this is your first Pixel device than I would definitely go for the newer Pixel 7 for sure, but if you already own a pixel 6 or 6 Pro then there would be no legitimate reason to upgrade to the 7 series, hope this helps my friend👍

I swear with my 11 I never had any of the problems I had on my 13 pro but it was also a refurbished device so that’s probably why I had so many issues 🤔 I’m going to my local phone shops this weekend to test out the phones in store to decide which one is best for me but I’m probs going to go for the normal 7 since the 6 pro is huge and I have baby hands 🤣 thanks so much for the reply it’s very helpful! 🥰🥰

i love both ios and android, but always used android since the galaxy S2, iphones for me (besides the battery) feels like they are settling to one thing and not really innovating their products like they used to they seem to be letting all that other brands do all the hard work and they just sort of skim off the good bits on the top

I have both, too. My iPhone is the pro, not max. I use the pixel pro for my Nevada place with a local number, and the pro for LA with a local number. Love them both for different reasons

I like the iPhone but it won't let Google timelines work, and I've always had an issue with Apple wallet being just clunky and not entirely successful. So as much as I want to keep the iPhone, I went to the pixel 6. Beyond the optical fingerprint scanner not being great, it's been a great phone. But I get the iPhone. Nice bit of kit
