So, because of the lack of telephoto lens, no one should buy the iPhone 13? What about the battery life? Newer, better internals, the main camera that most of the people use, most of the time, being better because of software enhancements. You had a good perspective but you completely ignored a lot of the reasons why it's better than the last gen! It's not much better but it is better. Telephoto lens is good to have but no one should buy the 12 pro, 12 pro max is the very least someone should buy right now and at that point might as well get the iPhone 13 pro.

Considering the screens are essentially the same, the battery life is essentially the same (from my testing), there’s no real-world difference in performance for the average user and just a negligible difference in wide camera image quality, I would definitely recommend the 12 Pro over the 13. Full stop. Just my opinion though and you’re welcome to make your own conclusions. Fortunately for both of us, both phones kick butt 🤷🏻‍♂️ Have a good one!

One friend of mine is trying to sell me his 12 pro max with 8 months of use, and next week i will travel and have the opportunity to buy 13 normal. which is a better choice? 12 pro max or 13 normal brand new? Ps: i have now 11 normal. Thank you!

The regular 13 and the 13 mini have the same camera sensor of the 12 pro max , A15 and a better battery also will be supported for longer !

Great review 👍 In terms of taking portraits that third lens can be a big issue. By the way, those outdoor shots of mountains 🏔 in the distance were amazing! Where were those taken?

That's a tough one, because "better" is largely subjective and really depends on what a person wants out of their phone. For me, personally, considering the large spec overlap between the two (screen brightness, battery, etc), that extra lens really does tip the balance towards the 12 Pro. - Ryan

The iPhone 13 is the better overall phone. Unless you really really need the telephoto lens and if you do need it, then go for the 13 pro, you'll be much happier.

@Knight RiderS197 I can get the 12 pro for the same rate as 13. So I don't think that dumb. And comparing the 13 mini to 12 pro just because you think the camera is better and has cinematic mode doesn't mean it's better than the 12 pro. Even the cores in the bionic chip in 13 and 13mini are same as 12 pro. Nothing's changed except the cameras and sensor shift tech in the base models of 13s.

I liked your review but thought initially you were saying you like the base model iPhone 13. I just got that one as I was upgrading from an iPhone XR so a big difference for me. Also like you you I really like that blue. But not the pale blue of the Pro. Sure telephoto lens would be nice but not for £270 more. Also if you buy the latest phone it lasts longer in terms of support.

I currently use an iPhone XR. For my next iPhone, i want 1) lighter weight then my XR, 2) better battery life, 3) the Qualcomm X60 modem (reception is spotty where i live), and 4) a second camera lens. The iPhone 13 is perfect for what I'm looking for.
