Otterbox has been trimming the Defender over the last few years. It’s just not as rugged as it used to be. This model is like an inverted Commuter.

People would usually get rid of built in screen protector as its quality was very bad. I used to have that case on my Droid DNA and HTC M8 and I loved it

@@birkensafttt I had otterbox on my old iphone 7 as well. Far better quality than the new one. The new surface feels like sandpaper, and it lacks screen protector. Nothing wrong with the old screen protector. Now they just save money on build quality sadly.

@@xclouddustx179 Yes if you never clean it. But it had front screen protection and was much nicer to hold. The new rubber or silicone feels like sandpapper

Why on earth would they make the inside that comes in direct contact with the phone's back and sides from hard plastic and the outside of soft rubber like material.........? 🤷‍♂

In the video it looks like the inside of the case is made of hard plastic with a very thin soft stick-on material and the outside of the case looks like soft rubber. I also saw other comments from people who bought this case and they were very dissapointed because of the hard and sturdy inside and the soft flexible outside, it should be the other way around. People complained that the hard inside caused the phone's sides to scratch and it was very difficult to get the phone out or in the case.
