For the portrait mode on Xiaomi, you can click the full body mode on the top left corner which can give you a 1x wide angle portrait shot.

If you're really a photographer instead of the iphone 14 pro you can go with a basic pro camera in the market, if is for the phone experience between Android or Iphone it is up to you of course, but you have to consider the price Wich isn't cheap at all talking about Apple products

I have a 12 t pro and I compared it with my friends 13 pro max, the xiomi was much better in pictures at night and much more realistic color display, the video is also much better at night, only the iPhone has better recording stabilization.

The Xiaomi 12t pro is pretty good for normal photos but the human subject photos look terrible. Cold, high contrast and whitened skin. That kind of ruins it for me
