I’ll be paying off the remainder of my iPhone 14 Pro Max and be upgrading to the iPhone 16 pro max hopefully they’ll have a 2TB storage option this year, if not that’s okay. The 14 pro series has been the most ambitious iPhone for me since it’s had the best features the last few years. The 16 pro max will most likely be my last time upgrading for another 6 years because I miss the fun of getting something really new. I can only imagine what the iPhone 22 series will be like with the 6G network going past the 1nm.

Since the iPhone 12, who really cares about all of the stuff each and every phone does going forward. Most people cannot tell how much better a photo is, or how much faster their apps load. Siri is not as heavily used like it used to be a Ai is cool but it’s not used as often or in the ways its creators hoped it will be used. Just give us a phone with long battery life, that will allow us to keep it for years and has the storage we need. Thats it. No Ai, no extra buttons or buttons that they think we’ll be excited about and no hoopla where the iPhone 16 would be 1000x better than an iPhone 6 cause it won’t feel like it.

So I’m considering upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro Max from the 15 Pro Max, I’m generally a new phone every year kind of a guy but may wait until the iPhone 17. One of my issues is that I am running the developer beta 18.1 on my current phone and worry that if the new 16 comes with iOS 18 I may have trouble transferring my current phone’s data to the new phone because it will likely cause problems with the transfer. Any thoughts, from anyone? I’m enjoying the AI features on the 18.1 beta and might have to get back in line to resume them on the new phone. Thoughts? Anyone?

The only reason I’m interested in the 16 series is bc someone stole my 15PM. That was the first phone I actually planned on keeping for years because usb-c was the last hold out feature I felt that an iPhone needed.
