Am I crazy? I switched from 15 pro max to regular 16 and I’m extremely happy. Maybe that means the pro features were actually lost on me and I’m fine with that. I consider myself tech savvy but I realize I really don’t need all that as I get older. I just want a phone to do the job.

you are not crazy , the people who call iphone 16 as nothing new to upgrade , those are crazy , iam also a techie , iphone 16 is a beast , iam also enjoying my iphone 16 and i tested and made comparisons with my friends iphone 15 and 15 pro , iphone 16 doesnt have more gimmicks but its powerful chip is enough to nuke out 15 and 15pro , 15procant support large generative MLL AI models , AI capability of 15 pro is very minute , compared to 16 base , you took a correct decision

That's a good suggestion however you're missing the point, people are tired of seeing almost the same design and not offering substantial innovations. I've compared 16 pro with 15 pro, it's disappointing to see very few changes. Hence, I would call this 16s only.

Yep I just got one today from the 12 and it’s great! My battery on the 12 was 79 capacity and after the last update it was super slow. My favorite complaint when comparing the 16plus to the pro max was that one reviewer was complaining about the 16 plus felt light and cheep. It’s only one oz diff and I’ve always wanted the lighter weight option 😂

That’s a horrible suggestion. It’s just how greedy corporations get. Just sad. I just got the 16 pro from 12 pro max and don’t see much differences. Ever since Steve Jobb past away it just seems that the new CEO is just basically milking off its original success instead of provide new innovative ideas and features to the new models. Every 6 months there is a new smart phone and they over price these phones. You’re looking to pay $1200 or more now for these phones that will eventually get outdated every 5 years. Just sad. Even my PS5 system cost less than these phones and they’re over priced and outdated in 5 years or less. Just another way to cash grab people

Haven't found a difference yet except for the little camera control on the side which is a bit of a miss. But, it is better than my nine year old phone it replaced. Don't think this will last nine years though.

For me, the iPhone 16 has made the biggest leap. Whether the display has 60 or 120Hz will not interest 90% of buyers. This is the first time I have switched to a non-Pro iPhone because I don't need the telephoto lens, and I'm more than happy. The fact that I now have 60 instead of 120Hz doesn't interest me, and it doesn't have a negative impact.

@@A1finesse go with it , i have switched from oneplus 120hz to 60hz iphone 16 ultramarine , it took little time to adjust but experience was really great and iphone 16 with 8gb of ram and massive 2 generational Processor upgrades and very fast charging (my iphone charges from 25% to 80% within 30-35min with 30W adapter as 16 supports 30w wired)

The trick if you wanna get this phone earlier than when the Apple Intelligence features roll out is to not think of AI as the sole selling point of the phone. I’m coming from an SE 2020 and I was gonna go for a regular 15 at first, but I’ve ended up getting a 16 for the very nice performance bump and the new buttons. Honestly the AI stuff is cool but that’s not the main selling point of this phone as it’s an incredible upgrade for me coming from a much older model. This will last me at least another 4 years!

Exactly! I myself went for the 16 Pro, but that was because battery life was the selling point for me. Though I should’ve known it’s not that different between the 16 and Pro. But I was coming from an iPhone SE 3, and I desperately needed a phone that would last me the whole day, ideally. I don’t really care about the camera, but I will say I do like that there are extra mics and the sound quality is better than previous models.

I never buy a mobile phone for the camera. Photos are not my primary concern, whereas sound is. The iphone 16 has a much better codec than the Samsung S24 - which is why I jumped ship!

I went to the Apple store to buy a white 16 plus to replace my red 11. I read often that the black and white versions are considered boring. Imagine my surprise when I was told the phones in those colour choices were sold out. They did have the pink, teal and blue. Go figure. No red, so I got the blue. I put a black framed Otter Defender clear case on it. Looks great. As far as the 60 Hz, that’s okay. I don’t do videos or games. I have the IPad Pro with 120 Hz. I do see the difference but when using the phone I am good with it. Love the 6.7 size. I could actually just be happy with only the phone if my IPad conked but it’s rather new.

i need to upgrade, i’ve had my iphone 11 since the 11 came out, my battery is terrible and my screen is shattered. but i’m not sure to just go for the cheaper iphone 15 or get the 16 because the features seem so similar. and the 16 colors are not very appealing to me ☹️

I seriously don't understand the infatuation people have with 120hz. I'm upgrading from my Pixel 7pro with 120hz to an iPhone 16 soon so I turned off smooth display on my Pixel and quite honestly after a few days I can't even tell that I've gone down to 60hz.

I came from iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro. And I would say, it’s really heavy for me and it strains my hands sometimes. Of course, I love the 120hz and the pro cameras but this iPhone 16, is just the perfect size and weight for me. I can live with the 60hz and non-pro cameras. What I noticed with the iPhone 16 is how smooth and fluid opening and switching apps, maybe because of the new processor.

I actually like the button. You have to force yourself to learn how it works. It’ll actually swipe through the zoom super fast with a flick of the finger. I do have a feeling some people will give up and not use it at all though. I think it is worth using in my opinion. I like the weird angles and quick camera access.

Fantastic honest appraisal of the iPhone 16. Very refreshing to see a video that is not just a promo for Apple. I am running the developer version of macOS Sequoia at the moment and this has some of the Apple Inteligence features activated. I do find some quite useful but as far as the iPhone is concerned I am not sure I would use them much. Very happy to subscribe👍

The 60 hz argument is so tired and at this point kind of annoying tbh. Yes, it does seem ridiculous that Apple still sells a 60 hz phone when every other phone across the entire price range has 120 hz. But what functionality does 120 hz actually unlock that the average consumer will notice. Smoother scrolling doesn’t mean anything for average consumers. I guess the only thing that can benefit 120 hz is for gaming, but there’s not a lot of games that can go up to 120 hz on the iPhone, apart from those casual games which don’t require fast reaction times anyway.

Oled displays, 2000 nit brightness, 4nm to now 3nm processors, battery percentage icon, Ceramic Shield, the damn Action & camera control buttons and MORE. None of these features, like 120hz, are actually necessary for the average consumer, yet Apple gave them these features. Why? It’s for the same reason 120hz should be on the base models. Because better technology was/is out there, so why not provide it to the average consumer.

Battery percentage icon provides crucial information in how long a phone will last at a glance which is something the average consumer does appreciate. 2000 nit brightness makes it easier to see outside in broad daylight which everyone will appreciate. Ceramic Shield makes the phone more resilient to drops which is something that’s useful for everyone who is clumsy aka average consumers. You have a point about the camera control and action buttons, but that just supports the argument that they should have remained a pro feature like 120 hz. I’ve given ways the average consumer can appreciate those features you listed. So how does 120 hz improve the experience for the average consumer in a way that is meaningful to them?

I decided to go with the 16. I watched a side by side real time with the pro and I barely could see any difference between 60 vs 120 but I know some are making a big deal out of it but I agree with his comments that Apple should upgrade to 120 anyway. Also a big factor for me in choosing this one for me and my wife is we will be paying $200 less for each phone. To some that's not a big deal but to me it is. Anyway, my thoughts but the pro is amazing also.

If you can do a trade in and get a new device for free then go for it. Otherwise, you should save your money. The fact that you bought a used iPhone recently indicates that you’re not rich, and upgrading is a bad financial decision. It’s not like the difference between an iPhone 7 and a 10 anymore. Don’t fall for the fomo. This year is another minor upgrade year and the cameras have been great since the 11 Pro, which the 14 is on par with aside from a lack of zoom. If I were you I would wait for next year at least. Rumors are that bigger changes are coming for the 17.

@@quirkymedico6141 yeah if you’re on the SE you really may be due for an upgrade. In this case the 16 offers enough general upgrades to get, but if you want to go the budget route, look for a used iPhone 13 or higher. Hope this helps!

For most users, the new colors don't matter. They're going to slap on a case anyway. It's a matter of personal taste but I like last year's pastel colors more than this year's colors. Nevertheless, I bought the black iPhone 15 because black is a classic, timeless color. You never go wrong with black. And with the guava silicone case, it just looks stunning.

The new buttons do nothing for me. They're superfluous and unnecessary. The Camera Control button actually *slows* down the picture-taking process.

@@jaynachanel if you absolutely need to get a new phone (can’t live with the 14), the 16 will be ok, but you can also try and find a used 15 for a good price? Or find a used 15 pro, that’s a really solid play!

@@jaynachanel great question, when I first got mine it did but it was because of a widely known software issue. After updated the software it was fine, didn’t heat up anymore. Hope this helps!

Idk ima get it ive had this slow as heck iphone xr for 6 years so i dont care the ups and downs compared to iphone 15 its time for an upgrade for me and ima get the iphone 16 not the pro thats a waste of money but the new iphone 16 base is good enough for me my space bar doesnt even work half the time too and its shattered on the back

@@hasiiii_wijedepends on your reason for upgrade. I don’t care about AI. I wanted a better camera and a little bigger screen. I had the 2nd gen SE. I am super happy with the iPhone 16 and the improved battery life.
