iPhone 16 Pro Camera Test In A Boats Graveyard | Oily Fish & Rice Cookout

First off. Happy new year everyone. I hope everyone has a great 2025. Thought I would go for a little rove to Eastney Spit with my new iPhone 16 Pro and film my cookout with it. Just a test to see how the camera performs on a cold but incredibly sunny day.
Found a spot beset with boats that are for want of a better word, wrecks. I used my ancient Trangia and cooked up an Irish latte and some herring in tomato sauce with rice in this tranquil spot. Perfectly balanced grub on a chilled day.

Hi Rob, another one of my favourite areas, growing up in the 1970s. There has always been quite a few abandoned/sunken boats left around there, even decades ago. There used to be quite a few old houseboats there too. The phone video quality is superb too!

I’ve seen wrecked boats there before that were all removed and seem to be replaced by new wrecks. Maybe they came away from their moorings during storms.

Brilliant meal by the seaside! And great to see you cooking on the Trangia. Thanks for the shout out there. Yours turned out quite lovely. Such a shame to see all of those boats just rotting away there. Considering I've torn a lot of boats apart to do the custom upholstery and repairs, it has me wishing I lived there. I'd take several of those, and strip others of parts, and rebuild boats in my spare time. Cheers, Rob!

Years ago next door to there - they had a small fenced off area on the side of the road, inside were racks of metal plates painted various colours just sitting there open to the elements. I later found out that it was where they were testing the quality of marine paint so to be used on the navy’s ships.

Your I phone did great. Boat graveyard is a bit sad. I am redoing a little river tug boat that I am going to air b and b with. It is no longer sea worthy but can be Reproduced and is still as cute as a button. Cheers from Olympia Washington 😊

Excellent images from that iPhone. I’m Still using the 13Pro and the camera is great, but was looking at the 16 a few weeks ago. Might be time for an upgrade 🤔

I used the 13 pro for a long time before I got the Wolfang 420 action cam. I think I’m going to go back to using the iPhone. So much easier to control. I edit on my phone too so I don’t have to faff with transferring photos over.

No I haven’t. Since the beginning of my KZbin adventure I’ve only used five cameras. iPhone 11, 13pro, Canon G7X, Wolfang GA420 and iPhone 16pro.
