I upgraded from an 8 plus to the 16 pro max. There are two different user bases here. Those that upgrade every year or two and those that upgrade when they need to. If you upgrade every 4 plus years you will be happy regardless, if you upgrade for the tech jump then you likely won't feel much value in the change or even feel you should not have spent the money.

Thank you! I literally just told a guy above that! Everyone assumes everybody had a 15 Pro/Max. I bet 80 percent or more of the iPhone user base is using a phone 3 or more years old!

Agreed. I just upgraded to a 16 pro max from an 13 pro max. The change is significant and, to me, necessary.

I think the 16 Pro Max is a fantastic phone, but it is true that some of its biggest differentiating features are a little underwhelming. I do sometimes use Camera Control for launching the camera app and taking photos, but literally all of the other things are better done on the touch screen. And the jury's still out with regard to whether Apple Intelligence will eventually be good. I upgraded from the 15 Pro because I wanted to get a larger phone (aging eyes) and in that sense I have been really happy with it. Battery life has also been stellar.

Nobody upgrades year over year anymore unless it’s a major upgrade my guy. That’s for any phone! This is not the 2010’s where you really saw the speed bump. People make the mistake of assuming everybody had a 15 pro Max when the 16 came out. No! 90 percent of the iPhone base is rocking a much older phone! That’s who this lineup is for!

I also didn’t upgrade which I usually,y do every year but it wasn’t worth it this year. 14 pro max to 15 pro max felt like a good upgrade because it was significantly lighter and easier to hold with the rounded sides.

Nah, prefer the size of Pro over Pro Max. Screen size and battery are great and its overall dimensions make it very handy and easy on pockets. I was thinking of buying Max before it was known that Pro and Pro Max will be larger in 16 series. All in all I am very happy that I made that choice.

Freezing and laggy performance are definitely not something I would expect from any semi-recent iPhone (and I've never had it with my phone). Not sure what to tell you except that there's something weird going on.

Thinking of upgrading to the 16 pro max from the 15 pro max only because my contract is early upgrade by paying more monthly. So it kind of makes sense that I do. If I didn’t pay extra every month to upgrade then of course I’d keep the 15 pro max. (I got the 15 pro max I’m using now when I switched carriers mid cycle) great video and love the pics. I love photography and videography more than anything else on a phone.

Happy holidays. Great video. If for some reason I would have to replace my 14 pro, sure I would buy the 16 prop max as I'd like a bigger size. Otherwise it's been years that for iPhones, most people shouldn't upgrade every year. The heavy marketing on Apple Intelligence was probably a mistake as I still don't see much use case for me and obscure what is otherwise a fine phone.

It is impossible to judge a smartphone on the basis of it being ideal for every user. There are different classes of users with different needs. There are "pro" users such as content creators. There are casual users. There are business users. There are wealthy users and financially-challenged users. Not every user needs the most advanced camera system or the longest possible battery life. Not every user needs high refresh rate or the largest possible display. Most smartphone users only need a "point & shoot" camera. So the iPhone 16 or 15 is perfectly fine. Most smartphone users only need the battery to last a single work day. Every phone today can do that. What kind of user are you?

I'm a casual user. So the iPhone 15 is ideal. It costs a hundred dollars less than the iPhone 16 and it costs a heck of a lot less than any Pro model. There is no reason to choose the iPhone 16 over the iPhone 15. Apple Intelligence is a dud. The Camera Control button is borderline useless.

#imadeit. I have the 15 pro and wanted the 16 pro max when it came out. I’ve been good with my 15 pro but this vid has brought back the want of the 16 Pro Max. For me the thinner bezel, the camera and battery life is what I want. I left my 12 pro max for the smaller pro but I want to go back to the pro max. I’m on the 3 yr program so I’ll be upgrading to the 18 unless I buy out my current

It’s an amazing phone, but Camera Control (CC) and the “new” Siri are big misses for me. With re to CC particularly, I tried for weeks but it’s simply too uncomfortable and awkward to relegate to the innocuous learning-curve category. I believe it was a poorly implemented, potentially cool idea. It’s a huge miss for me and surprise as such, coming from Apple. 🤷‍♂️

iPhone 14 line is a terrible buy at this point if you ask me. Mostly because of USB-C. I’m going to throw in Apple intelligence as well. You may not use those features daily, but they will be useful from time to time and remember Siri 2.0 was the real part that people wanted. It’s not even out yet. Last, AI will continue to add features and eventually get out of beta. 2025 and beyond, I would recommend iPhone 15 line and up! The 14 line and below are cool if it’s a hand me down or if you already have it and waiting for an upgrade.
