Is this the successor to the K810, my current keyboard? BTW, if you set the brightness to a minimal level, the battery will last longer. BTW, a lot of the settings and features (almost all) are identical on the K810, it seems like it would be the same with regard to the backlight. Since I'm using mine in a room with uneven light distribution, the backlight is a godsend. Same with dimly lit lecture halls when presentations require near complete darkness. And, if you need constant brightness, you can plug it in to a wall charger or portable powerbank. BTW, since I'm using this with my Galaxy Z Fold 4 and LG V20, both Androids, along with a Bluetooth mouse, the Windows layout works with Android in every way it works with Microsoft software. And, because my Z Fold 4 came with Microsoft 360, DeX and some other cross-platform programs (apps), for the first time in 7+ years, the Caps Lock LED works like it's supposed to. As to a unifying receiver, neither of my devices requires one and Bluetooth pairing worked great on both with no noticeable lag in use. Incidentally, if you miss the sounds of the clickety clack of the old Olympia, Olivetti or Smith Corona, "Typewriter Sounds Keyboard," from the Google Playstore, is the only app that will work on an external keyboarrd as well as the touchscreen. In the app's settings you can choose the sound from the three aforementioned. The Apple Appstore might also have it.

Love my flip! Twinning with my wife 😅 it's nostalgic for sure. I use the cover screen a lot because it's just so convenient. The fact that i can use good lock to access the applications that i use is great. Came from an iphone 13 and the 120 hz is awesome. I don't use the cameras all that much so that part is ok for me. I think that if you really want a flip phone, this is the best bet. But if you take a lot of pictures, I'd say probably go for the s24 or the pixel 8.

Also Mac do not support 3.2 gen 2x2 (dual lane, or 2 by 2 naming), any 20Gbps cable/hub will only run at 10Gbps on Mac. 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3, 4 and USB 4 will run at full speed. Just 2x2 not working

I'm still using my 12 Pro Max. I wanted to break away from the consumerism I found myself in and now won't upgrade anything for 7 years. Decided this in 2022. Modern, premium tech will last that long with battery replacements. The 19 Pro Max will hopefully be 100% bezel-less. The dynamic island is just too big.

I just got the 15 Pro Max after being on Android ever since the first smartphones launched on the market and I compared it to my girlfriend's 11 Pro Max. Aside from the cameras and the 120 hz screen, almost everything felt identically close in terms of performance, especially for day to day usage. I completely agree with your take and will probably not upgrade until the 20 pro max or further. Great mindset.
@equivalentexchangeisalie5726

@@Contiingency Glad you agree. Sure there are some differences like you said but it's no reason to constantly upgrade. I decided this myself in 2022 but tbh most of my tech is from 2017-2021 so I've just held on to what I have. It also weakens your willpower and makes you appreciate things less since you're constantly getting something new. 10-20 years ago we wouldn't replace something until it broke or for a decade. So it's just crazy that a USB C port or dynamic island means now I have to get a brand new phone. It's insane. I chose 7 years because tech does move fast so the days of keeping things for 10 years is over but every 7 years is 3 times in 20 years vs 2 times in 20 years. Which I think is a healthy middle ground. But again I do buy premium tech, so I have no issue with expensive things. It's just expensive things literally every 1-2 years, which has to stop. Anyways, I have had my UE Boom bluetooth speaker since 2017 so it's time to upgrade that lol. Gonna go with this $280 sci-fi looking one made by Gravastar. Pricy but I'll have it until 2031 so it's no issue 👍

@@equivalentexchangeisalie5726 I feel like people try to overcomplicate planned obsolence too much, thinking that if their new cars are like that, technology should be on the same scale, but it is not. You don’t have to service your tech as long as you take good care of it. Also I have heard good things about Gravastar, but only regarding their PC peripherals. ✌️

It’s 2024 now. Just wondering if you still feel the same about the 8GB RAM? I’m in this debate with myself right now about 8GB/16GB and just going M1 vs M2 vs M3. I do photo editing, but for personal use only, and work through Microsoft Remote Desktop to a virtual Windows desktop (no option there…employer choice). It runs great on my wife’s M1 MBA but I only got to spend about 30 min trying it out. Curious if your view has changed with new MacOS releases on the same machine.

I have the Logitech MX Keys keyboard for Mac too and really like it but it hasn't been without problems. The concept of the backlight coming on based on ambient light and when your hands are near it is great but doesn't really work properly, and ever since I've had the keyboard (about 2 years), the backlight just comes on and off randomly when it's sat idle with no one near it, whether in daylight or darkness, so drains the battery. Logitech 'Customer Service' is the absolute WORST and do not want to know about this problem that I and many others have had with this keyboard, judging by various forums I've been on about it. No one has managed to get a proper response or solution from Logi about it. Logi refuse to acknowledge there's an issue with the randomly flashing backlight and any request for support, they just fob you off by telling you how marvellous the features of their product are and then send you the instruction manual again (sometimes in Chinese) as if to say that there is no problem - you're just too stupid to use it properly. Then they will close the support ticket as 'resolved'. Every time. They want you to give up and go away, which I wouldn't do. After much trying and nagging, I did actually manage to persuade them to send me a replacement keyboard, which was a miracle, but this one has exactly the same issue and so I have actually given up now. I simply turn off the backlight completely during the day or overnight when I'm not using it, to stop it randomly flashing on and off the whole time, but I don't always remember to do that. Another issue is that the keyboard sometimes forgets what you have assigned to the F keys in the Logi Options software, so where I have the 'Lock' key (F19) assigned to increase volume on my Sonos system, sometimes pressing that to turn it up will just lock my Mac instead and it takes a few clicks of my mouse to make it remember the special commands I have assigned to the F keys. I've assigned the otherwise useless Eject key to lock my Mac but it sometimes forgets that too. Pretty irritating. And, the aluminium-coloured coating is rubbing off on the edge below the Space bar, so starting to look a bit shabby. Apart from all that though, it's a very nice keyboard - just don't expect anything other than to receive patronising remarks and several copies of the instruction manual if you ever have a problem with it!

I have been a Windows user my entire life, and I'm about to commit to switching to Apple for my computer, phone, watch, and headphones. I was an iPhone user from the 4,6,8, and X but switched over to the Samsung S22/S23 line when my Apple watch broke on during a deployment. I have a Windows rig with a water-cooled 14900k and 4090, as well as a very powerful Windows gaming laptop. Do you have any advise for me about switching back into the Apple ecosystem? I'm holding off and waiting for the 16 Pro Max iPhone to be released and the m4 chips for the next-generation Apple MacBook. I miss iMessage, facetime, Airdrop, and the stability I had with iPhones. However, I have never used an Apple computer before.
