iPhone 16 Pro Max vs Galaxy S24 Ultra Heavy Duty Test - Who Survives🔥?

On the technical side, for geeks like me, the iPhone 16PM is by miles the most technologically advanced phone of 2024. It dominates the S24U here, with much better thermals despite the much-bragged-about vapour chamber on the S24U. It was more efficient whilst running 5G and HDR, which Samsung throttled to fool this test. I look forward to seeing the S25U as both will be on the same 3nm gen-2 (corrected from 2nm) and then we can maybe judge on optimisation, OS software and chip design. I suspect it will be much closer than this annihilation. Of course, for 99% of buyers the iPhone winning here by a massive margin is moot as their buying decision is based more on the OS, brand , and features like the s-pen. But for the 1% you have to marvel how much Apple is better than Samsung this year.

As a S24 Ultra user here, samsung really need to work more on optimizing there software on snapdragon hardware. This is what amazes me when i use apple products there software to hardware optimization is insane, it's like they optimize their software to atomic level to perform so much great. Kindly also record video, i feel like its the most heaviest task for the processor, camera, audio, temperature etc. Because i used to shoot long hours of high quality videos for long time and not even a single android flagship survived 20mins without overheating in mid day sunlight.

S24U can do 4K60 with higher mbit for more than an hour and 8+ hours of FHD, iPhone can do more on 4K60 for sure... Pixel 9 Pro XL did 24 min overheated and but video continued with reduced quality.

In my place in summer its 42 degree Celsius here only apple survives i tried xiaomi 14 pro - 18mins temperature warning, oneplus 12 - 23 minutes warning, realme, oppo, non. But iphone even old models survives like charm. I haven't tried s24u though.

The s24 ultras 8gen3 has been somewhat of a disappointment tbh. And i have a s24 ultra. It overheats and throttles too fast. I really hope the s25 ultra fixes this problem But dont get me wrong, the s24 ultra still is the better device compared to the 16 pro max

I tested both the 16 pro max and s24 ultra at the store today and I still think the s24 ultra is way more fun to use like my s23 ultra. The s pen w gestures and sound effects , multi tasking, open operating system, way better display lightyears ahead corning glass no reflections, good lock, emulation at a higher level w no limitations, Samsung TV ecosystem etc . I'll wait for the s25 ultra and fold 6 special edition and fold 7 they are way more fun to use

I do gaming on both the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra. The S23 Ultra provides high frames per second (fps), has cooler thermals, and maintains a consistent GPU usage of around 68%. On the other hand, the S24 Ultra delivers lower fps, experiences overheating, has fluctuating fps, and its GPU usage is constantly at 100%. In terms of gaming, the S24 Ultra falls short. The game I play, Sword of Justice Online, is more demanding than most other games on the market. It features ray tracing and is an open-world MMORPG. While Genshin Impact consumes around 2 to 3 GB of memory, Sword of Justice Online requires a substantial 7 to 8 GB of memory when running.

I will wait until the S25 Ultra is released. If it does not outperform the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of performance and runs hotter, then I will switch to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It will be my first iPhone after many years with Samsung since the Note 5. I do like the features on Samsung phones; however, I want raw performance, a consistent camera, app stability, and high performance in gaming. The only thing I know about Samsung phones is that there are endless updates, which fix one issue only for another to arise.

Според моите тестове, най-добре се справя най-горният от трите способа, който на екрана се изписва за секунда като "Спот измерване". Има и начин да се предотврати допълнителната обработка в "Expert RAW", ако задействаш "Клин на експозицията" (иконката с два квадрата, пресичащи се взаимно). Там трябва да зададеш "Затвор: Непрекъснао" и "Слой: Средно", а от плъзгача долу да се нагласи "Експонация: 3". Трябва обаче да държиш телефона стабилно в това време, иначе снимките стават размазани. Ограничето е, че снимките тогава са само 12 МП, но много по-естествени. Ако зададеш "Затвор: Ръчно", ще трябва да оставиш телефона на стойка, защото трябва всеки път ръчно да натискаш затвора (може и с писалката) и да съчетаеш няколко кадъра заедно (например 3). Тогава снимките са още по-естествени, но трябва задължително телефонът да се държи много стабилно при заснемането.

Thats why 8gen3 is like that. 8gen2 is better than both a17pro and 8gen3 the thing is Qualcomm does deals with the manufacturers and they are forced to keep using the new chip every year , so even if Samsung wanted to keep 8gen2 , they couldn't. To be honest, if it was hotter and you played for longer, the iPhone would have probably started to struggle a bit. It maintained excellent temperature no matter how heavy the test was. That's most impressive but, again, if it was hotter in the room, the result might have been very slightly different. I was a bit skeptical about tge conditiona because the iOhone ran at HDR vs regular on the S24U and it was on 5G against 4G which is a huuuge difference. Maintaining all that while dropping less battery is extremely, extremely impressive. Good job to the engineers for the provided thermal solution. Engineers are the closest thing we have to real magic. And great job to the people that made that exceptional A18 Pro chip. Geekerwan made a test where he showed that A18 Pro not only runs faster but also consumes less power compared to SD8G3. This explains why the Samsung needed more power despite having no HDR and 4G instead of 5G. The difference in chip efficiency was enough to push the iPhone ahead.

The real test would be comparing older Iphone, 13 Pro Max for example, with Samsung flagship from same year (as I doubt many people are into "upgrading" every single year). If it was possible to not increase whitepoint by 30+% everytime something HDR plays, and blind me, I would change my mind. But currently I don't find it an issue that HDR PiP doesn't work, it's less annoying that way.

Там екранът на iPhone 16 Pro Max ще трябва да работи с много по-голяма яркост, за да може да се види нещо на него, докато при S24 Ultra яркостта може да е по-умерена, тъй като противоотражателното покритие на екрана му (ако не се ползва допълнително предпазно стъкло) позволява чудесна видимост и без нуждата яркостта да бъде пусната докрай. Прочети и по-долу. :) Има и друго нещо, което почти никой канал в KZbin не споменава. iPhone-ите (особено по-малките им модели) се славят с бързото източване на батерията в по-отдалечени местности в покрайнините или извън населените места, или в приземни етажи на сгради, тъй като антените им са по-малки в сравнение с тези на повечето телефони с Android. Тогава S24 Ultra се справя доста по-добре и издържа повече време на работа, поддържа по-силен сигнал и загрява по-малко. Имам преки наблюдения над това, тъй като приятелката ми имаше доскоро iPhone 15 (не Pro) и при междуградско пътуване сигналът се губеше лесно, а телефонът прегряваше бързо и батерията се изтощаваше няколко пъти по-бързо от обикновено. Моят S24 Ultra лови сигнал без проблеми и не прегрява при същите условия. Това е от особено значение при ходене на почивки, походи в планината, на море или където другаде има по-слабо изградена мрежа от антени.

dude, they made lower temp threshold on s24 u, on 23 ultra it could ho higher, just open good lock - download thermal guardian, open it and make threshold slider to right side, and repeat the test, done.

Yeah that goodlock tip won't help a lot, the only thing which will keep it running is completely eliminating the thermal limit, which you can do but it probably get a lot hotter

@eduard6450 You can lower with 2 and up with 2C With 2C + phone can go 43-47 but eventually thermal management will either throttle cpu and OS will start to force close apps. You can't change much cpu governors but you can totally disable GOS with the stock settings for alternate performance or completely off with net guard.

You need to wait until both phones' battery completely dies. This 7% is not accurate since both phones will have a different algorhythm to read and show how much battery is left. Whereas if you wait until they complerely die, then you know for certain that both really used a 100% of the battery's capacity.

Also, you do know that adaptive brightness learns your patterns right? So maybe another s24u user with adaptivr brightness will have a completely different brightness in the same scenario.
