I used my 15pro as an under water camera on a cruise in June. It spent probably around 3+hrs in the ocean total and I rinsed with water afterwards after each ocean swim. And only wirelessly charged. I hoped to back up my photos before it died. It never died and I recently traded it in for a 16 pro max. I have amazing photos and videos from the trip ❤

I literally swam at Idaho’s major theme park, Silverwood, in the lazy river and wave pool with my iPhone 15 pro max 512g natural titanium with zero issues. Well, I couldn’t charge it via charging port for a while of course due to the safety feature of liquid detection. No case and no screen protector, just a naked 15 pro max in and out of water for hours throughout the day. Months later, still no issues. Moreover, I took my iPhone 14 Pro Max in Disney Worlds water park wave pool, and had no issues. So, I say it’s reasonable to assume the risk that the 16 pro Max will live up to Apples claim. I do have my limit, I did not take my 15 pro max in the oceans of Honolulu Waikiki, only my Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the ocean with zero issues.

I’ve been using my iPhones under water for years, filming in fish tanks in the sea, I wash it in the bath to clean grease marks etc. never had any issues.

went to the beach last august, still using my iphone 11 and used it to take pictures in the ocean, it even rained so hard and i still used it, no issues at all. I couldnt charge it for a time of course but no other issues at all. If my 11 could survive that, I'm quite sure higher iphones would perform even better

Best option to remove water from the USB connector is power off the phone, use an air blower to remove as much water as possible and then let it dry by itself for a few hours or a whole day. Using the iphone in any way with moist inside means risking permanent damage due to short circuit
