Nobody cares about a thinner phone. Period. "My phone is too thick" Said no-one in like 5 years. It's like Ives is back. smh. Worst MacBooks ever made were because of Johny. Stop with thin over functionality. Rollable screen laptops are not a thing and never will be. So stupid.

I won’t mind a thicker phone, as long as its not as heavy as 240g like the 13/14 Pro Max were
@davidpoloskey322519 күн бұрын
Thinness might not necessarily matter, but weight definitely does. And the iPhone has been gradually getting heavier and heavier every year. Even just flashing back 10 years the iPhone 6+, which in terms of size is a very similar volume to the current Pro Maxes of today, was 68G heavier than a 14PM, or almost 2 1/2 ounces heavier. Even the 16+ with an aluminum build is still over an ounce heavier than the old 6+. It gets even more ridiculous when you compared to something like the original iPhone SE, which is literally more than half the weight of a 16PM. This is an advantage The thin phones will have, if the 17 Air comes in around 150-175G it’s going to possibly be one of the most comfortable large phones that can still be used one handed.

Apple keeps pretending they care about privacy. That's a lie. They care about profit and of they market privacy they make more profit even if the privacy features are surpassed by 3rd parties. They are interested in keeping their walled garden. I think they should be forced to open it up and compete on innovation

If they are able to fit such a large battery on this Slim, they should be able to fit a bigger one on the Ultra and Fold7. Making the lighter, makes sense. Thinner, you’re just asking for insurance claims left and right due to bending.

"keep this video at a decent length" Jaime..... I've been watching your vids for a few years now.... and everything you do with giving us the tech news is awesome! You break everything down well, and give concise thoughts. There is no "decent length" for your format in my mind. This video is 9:03... if you had kept those two other stories it might have bumped it up to 15 mins in length.... I'm perfectly fine with that. I know this is just my opinion, but what I'm sayin' is that because I enjoy watching your stuff... I never look at the length of the video. But I understand the YT algorithm and all that. Keep up the excellent work!

Unpopular opinion on thin phones: I like them, because phones have gotten wider, thicker, and now the sides are squared off more often than not. All of these combined make phones uncomfortable to use with one hand. If I can't have rounded edges then I want a narrow phone; if I can't have a narrow phone then make it thinner. Ideally, I just wish phones would be sub 6 inches again, but that's not going to happen.
@jamescassar534818 күн бұрын
Thankfully it's an unpopular opinion. You wanna go backwards to having less phone. Sub 6" 😂 give me 6.8" any day of the week and twice on Sunday. If I'm paying top dollar, I want a large battery, a large display and space for heat management not a bloody thin phone that you put on a case on

@kompassorpigo760018 күн бұрын
@@jamescassar5348 it's a portable device. It should be portable. Besides, thinness has nothing to do with screen size. If anything, making the phone thinner would allow Apple to increase the screen size without increasing the weight.

That Lenovo laptop and rollabe screen is a dream come true for me. I'm a lawyer and I have to work a lot on the screens that are vertically challenged (deficient vertically), because all I see and work on are documents, pdf and some spreadsheets. Mainly I write in Microsoft Word and I even bought Dell 32" monitor and I have rotated it to be in vertical mode permanently - and on the other side of I have my trusty Lenovo P52. Also, I work on LG Gram 17 and Huawei Matebook X pro. All of them would benefit from taller screen as far as I'm concerned.

When you say "slim with no compromise" I think the one compromise will be in durability, primarily for the people you see running around with their phone in their back pocket all the time. Unless they do some crazy feat of engineering, I imagine a thinner phone would be more prone to damage from bending or flexing. I also think a thinner phone would be more challenging to manage heat while charging or during processor-intensive operations. Most importantly, I don't hear a lot of reviewers or consumers saying that modern day phones are too thick. Going thinner definitely has more benefit for foldable phones, but it's not what consumers are looking for in a slab phone. Everyone, all the time, asks for more battery life and faster charging. I don't know why the major players won't give the people what they want. Meanwhile, OnePlus has huge battery capacity with extremely fast charging, but the people who say these things are important to them won't buy a OnePlus phone.
