iPhone 6 Plus Bloated Battery-Fixed

A friend sent me this iphone 6 plus to check if I can do anything about this super bloated battery and almost burst the LCD panel. I can not take it to stay like this longer so I removed the battery pack and tried releasing the air if it still works. Fortunately the lcd is still working good and the battey still works. I hope this will last for few weeks until the new battery arrives. I hope there is no problem with the main board.

Mine’s bulging up on the right side, all the way to the top, and a little bit down the left side. I panicked for a while. Figured the battery needs a replacement because battery life kept getting shorter. And I drop it a couple times, face down😅😅

Man this makes me nervous watching this 😅 but glad to have found it! Have worked in cell repair for years and never have I once ever seen this as a temporary solution or solution at all! Which I understand the hesitation of companies to tell you to just trash it, because of the huge “WARNING!” Attached, but I really just need me screen to go back flat on an iPhone 6s for a couple weeks and I’m already having to keep it plugged up at all times anyway, might as well not damage the screen in the time being. I am a certified cellphone technician since 2005 and did this to selected old model phones including macbook batteries and never had a back issue. I just quit my repair shop in 2009 when I get a better job and doing this as a sideline or hobby nowadays. Companies do not want you to do this so that you buy a new one for a profit 😃

Dont listen to this: this happened to my iPhone 5s a few years ago. If the screen is lifting off the chassis then take it to the Apple shop immediately. The expanded battery could set fire and explode. In most cases, the Apple shop will replace your phone free of charge

A remedy since it was lock down time and the lcd will get broken in few hours if not opened immediately. Ofcourse battery life is still what it was but atleast it has been used many months until shops were open. By the way I have done this trick since 2005 in old phones until now in smart phones and no one had any safety issue until battery ends its life.

This is the reason why I made a DIY video if you want to do it yourself. You can skip the removal of battery, you can just open the back case and puncture a tiny hole to release the gas. Use a non conductive pointed object to puncture and make sure the battery is empty before doing for more safety

I noticed the 6 if bloated the wrap still sticks on the battery itself so it’s not advisable to poke. You can try pushing the battery by your hand and if you feel there’s a gas in between the wrapper and the battery you can poke a tiny hole on it but need to use a non conductive pointed object like the thorn of a plant

Yes if you can buy battery you buy but check the date it was during the lock down and the lcd will burst in few hours. This bloating happened over night only according to the owner so I made a remedy. By the way I have done this to dozens of phones already and had no single issue within 16 years of doing this trick. This is for the people who have guts to do and this is not for you. To add I am a certified mobile phone technician since 2005 and I just do this as a hobby nowadays 😀

If your phone has already opened like this yes you can but make sure not to poke the inner part of the battery. I have tried poking the iphone battery deeper and it exploded like a fire cracker that is why it’s better to drain the battery first

Tama lng na palitan ng battery kung may pampalit. Pd rin masira ang camera dahil umangat at pwedeng naputol ang flex. Masira rin pati lcd kung lumubo dahil pd mabasag. Kung nag cha charge ayaw mag on baka sira ang power switch.

tips po: pag nag start ng umangat ang screen, wag nio muna gamitin hanggat di napalitan ang battery or na repair, para ma prevent yung further damage like: masira ang camera or masira ang LCD..

No, the battery was actually old enough and needs replacement. This was just a remedy not to have more damage especially the lcd. Battery where replaced after the lock down

I have the same thing but with an ipad. The battery lasts for a long time but jts quite old so i assume its the battery. Nice video it helped quite alot
