Jason is not only a good technician but great human being. Just happened to watch one of his old videos (4years old) but wen watching an up to date video, he has improved a lot on his profession surprisingly compared to other folks as a Good Samaritan he has not changed a bit rather become better than better human. Total respect to Jason as a continues supporter.

For what it's worth, my view frequency went down drastically when Louis started doing live streaming. TONs of wasted time. Love what you're doing! Keep it up!

+Device Mechanix thanks for the comment. It really helps to get some feedback: ) I am taking your advise on the Patreon page. I never paid a lick of attention to it before so I didn't even know what it was. I can see this opening doors for me to produce more videos. thanks man!

nice to see you back, realise you must have been working hard. I've looked at some others that have vids showing repairs and the heat applied with no flux I'd forgotten the painstaking steps you take, you could see the coin they were using to deflect the heat changing colour and smoking I know you need it sometimes but it lasted ages. I've often wondered if the phone breaks down with another fault in the future because of this. hope to hear from you soon, great video.

I remove things without flux pretty often but sometimes use flux just as a visual aid to let me know what the temperature is and when the solder is about to flow. But with the way these boards transfer heat, you wind up needing to heat up a very large part of the board anyways for whatever spot it is that you are focusing on to melt because they heat is being spread and dissipated rapidly. So in my experience with shielding, you still wind up needing to heat up that same large area, it just takes a LOT longer and then there's the risk (if you're using tape) of it moving components when they do float. I probably should at least shield those plastic connectors but you really can't see that slight tinge of heating unless you look under magnification. Thanks for watching and complimenting =)

Filter Coil - that's what you replaced. The filter is the circuit that is comprised of the coil in combination with the cap(s) and sometimes other resistors depending on the function ;)

Yes, very human indeed. I think I'm going to ignore the fact that I'm live streaming when I'm live streaming to prevent "someone watching me" related errors.. lol Thanks for commenting Paul=)

Have an iPhone customer with a touch problem. And I'm on the fence about working it. Haven't had the chance to work one yet ... but if they're prone to keep failing, think I will let that one go. :P

+Chuck Gluth I may have been a little harsh due to a few bad ones in a row. I have been through literally hundreds of these successfully and profitably but I guess its easy to lose sight of all the good ones over just a few bad ones. I'm doing a handful of them tonight and watch them all turn out perfect. (Or be total disasters:D)

I hope I have someday trinocular microscope. At this moment I have old Soviet Russian microscope that have impressive prisma and good "zoom" :D. What is your microscope highest level? Is max 90x too much to iPhone board repair?
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
Mine is 7x to 45x variable which is almost always enough. The only time I find myself wanting more magnification is for long screw trace repair once in awhile when I just can't quite get that last little bit. So even for trace repair, 45x is normally fine :) I think I may buy some 20x lenses eventually so I can get up to 90x out of it though.

Hi Jason. Any recommendations how I can learn to read and troubleshoot with zxw ? I want to learn badly can you please directing me?
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
Hey Shaik! Thanks for the q-tips and stuff.. I'll be trying them out pretty soon. They look a lot like mine. You are All Phone Toys right? In order to really know what's going on, it takes the schematics.. whether it is download PDFs or from Blackfish (the barely functional software that comes with slightly more functional ZXW). I use PDF schematics every time possible because Blackfish sucks to try to use... plus you wind up needing the same schematic open a half dozen times to track different pages/sections and Blackfish doesn't do that. Without schematics, you can do a fair amount of just seeing what is connected where on ZXW but to really narrow stuff down and troubleshoot - gotta go to the schematic.
@shaikrahman41287 жыл бұрын
Yes I'm from All Phone Toys. So I should buy zxw then right ? Thanks again

If you're gonna be doing board repairs, it should pay for itself. You can get by without it but it can save tons of time.

Hi Jason, At 27:29" I can't seem to get new leaded on the pad, one side is stick well with new leaded solder, the other side is not. Am i doing anything wrong?
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
Those pads can be very hard to clean. When those filters blow, they can really rough them up. Many times they are welded to the pad and the pad comes off on the filter too.

I have same problem woth 6s. I just want to find out how do u check short in filter? I mean in my phone i removed same filer and tested the pads with ground. It shows beep with one pad and doesn't beep one the 2nd side of the filter's pad. It is normal? If filter is bad It beeps should beep both side of with ground or one side or it shouldn't beep at all. Please clear this point to me. 2nd when you check filter with connector line it shoud show beep on both side of the cap or it shouldn't show beep at all..your responce will be highly appreciated.. Thx

I fix iphones/samsungs and a rule of thumb is if its been messed with before there are no warranties whatsoever. No headaches about people trying to get you for mistakes they or someone else made.

Tough line here with me though because now the previous repair attempt thing is a very large part of our business. Just have to try to be more open and clear about things and get other shops to be more careful when sending things to be sure they're being open about all of the problems. Many of them send it with one "big problem" and tuck all the little stuff under the rug intentionally because they've seen my videos and assume I'm going to fix it all anyway. I did a lot of that in the past but now that I'm so busy I can't see strait, it's getting really tough. Thanks for commenting :))

I have AmScope SM-4TP 7X-45X Simul-Focal Stereo Zoom Microscope, I need a camera. What can you recommend for a good quality and a small budget. I do not want to buy a camera for £ 1,000. My limit is 100 to 500 £ max.
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
I'm really not sure on that one. When I bought this one I was one my budget was less than that.. I bought the cheap blue 14mp eBay camera I see for sale in all different colors. I think I spent around $170. I made sure to pick the one that had the larger Panasonic sensor listed in the specs instead of the smaller "Chinese sensor".. I'm really not sure if that made a difference though.

can i use a hakko fx 888d to do microsoldering?
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
+Gary I wouldn't see why not. I've never used one but as long as it will make enough heat and you can find tips that suit the job. I bet I've seen them used watching other people's videos but honestly, don't know for sure.

STS Telecom i think that an hakko fx is way much better than an yihua (that i currently own) so i'm gonnna to buy it soon

You really need a JBC nano tweezer. I wanted to change 6s filter with a normal iron. I almost screwed up the phone. Luckily last minute sense and the microscope came to rescue.
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
Oh man, you are not kidding. Some micro hot tweezers are certainly climbing their way up my "gotta buy asap" list. Will make life so much easier and I'll probably wonder why I waited so long! :)

Yes it saves up lot of time and neat work. You know when we do a repair very neatly it gives so much satisfaction. I was watching your s3 video and changed the port with a usb Microscope it took me almost an hour, Now i have boomstand microscope and it took only 15 minutes from the start to end. Thanks for your videos... You always go from scratch which is easy for the new repairers.
