I love your video's because they're extremely useful for teaching good diagnosis concepts that can be applied to any electrical issue. Verify the problem, check the schematic to understand how the system works, take measurements, compare it to a known good system, isolate the faulty circuit, repair fault in circuit, verify repair.

O.L. = overload, not open line. It means you're over max range, or in diode mode it means voltage drop is greater than 1999mV but not necessarily infinite. You and Jessa have a nasty habit of calling it "open line" when it's really telling you that your measurement is off the scale. It's a potentially dangerous misunderstanding of the tool. Imagine encountering an unexpected high voltage where O.L. sure as shit doesn't mean "open line."

Do you have a 'curve tracer'? You can build one for a scope with a few components. If you've got alot of measurements, having a visual representation of voltage-current to compare can be much faster. It can also help spot components that are just slightly off, especially if your scope can ghost a measurement on screen to compare. The shapes that are made by different circuits tell you diode voltages both directions (a zener actually makes a sideways 'z'), capacitance shows up as oval shapes, resistance is an incline with slope showing resistance, etc...

Hey Louis, I've been looking into buying this multimeter. From looking up on the internet, I've seen people complaining on the older models reaction time in continuity mode with the original probes (I coudln't find a review video for this model). Is it the case with this model or is the reading and beeping sound pretty much instantaneous (like shown in the video in diode mode)? I could see this driving myself nuts if there was a huge delay between the contact between the probes and the reading! Keep up the good work and please, stay away from bike injuries haha!

I've been looking at a TV for my dad, and I've got it narrowed down to a 50/50 shot on what board is bad, but I don't have any known good boards to check differences, having a replacement to test other components on really isn't much of an option with TV boards, and I can't seem to find a complete wiring diagram.
