you shouldn't use a metal tool to separate the screen from the housing, OCD people like myself wouldn't appreciate scuffs on the housing, surly you have a suction cup and guitar picks.

KyRuMo have you even bother trying to open an iPhone 7 screen that is cracked? suction cups don't work when the screen is cracked. Guitar picks are not going to work because you have to cut through adhesive.

Tech MD KZbin yes I have, all you need is scotch packaging tape for a cracked screen. Apply the scotch tape on cracked screen and then you'll have a surface that should work with suction cup

you can get some nice quality plastic razorblades made in USA. Search on eBay. Red colored. 500pzs for $40, I believe.

I think he did a great job especially in the fact he opened the phone wit no damage and was careful with the metal tool. The video also shows this guy knows what he is doing and I would know I fix these phones all the time . Don't worry about these other guys commenting because they never have even opened an iPhone 7. A metal pry tool is perfect for opening tools if experienced and good at using it.

Bonjour J'ai acheté une nappe connecteur de charge pour Iphone 7 pensant que le mien était HS mais je me suis rendu compte qu'elle ne l'était pas en fait quand je resserre les vis de l'Iphone il ne charge plus, je suis obligé de ne pas remettes les vis de la carte-mère (ceux du bas) quand je ne les remets pas et que je fais levier (juste un peu) pour que la carte-mère ne soit pas collée au châssis le téléphone charge, donc ma question ai-je loupé quelque chose ? I take a photo and print it out. Any screw or part goes onto the printout. Some screws are of different sizes...

I put an iphone 7 in a custom housing and never sold it (it was working great) so I moved it to another custom housing and this time it wont start anytime I have a charge port plugged in, even if I plug in a new charge port. if I unplug the charge port then the phone starts. Ideas? I transferred all parts both housing swaps except on the second housing the little flex cable above the camera did not have a screw hole so I didn't put that in.

I have the exact same issue. Did a full i7 swap to red and the charging port will not allow it to startup. I plugged it into iTunes to do a restore, it failed halfway through error 4011 and now iTunes will not recognize the device. Tried 3 different charging docks 3 batteries etc still nothing. Dead. I have done over 10,000 repairs over the last 7 years all iPhones so i know what i am doing. Apple must be f'n with us again. any ideas?

Where did you get your housing from? And did it also not have the screw holes at the top right above the camera for the small flex cable? i am thinking something in the housing is grounding out when I plug in a charge port.

it'll never be exactly the same as it was before it was opened, but if you replace the adhesive that's around the display assembly, it get's pretty damn close.

Tech MD KZbin yes! I hooked up the old charge port and held the speaker on and it worked great. Had to get a 2nd new charge port. Now works like new

xtac MI certified. meaning it's an apple certified cord they pay the royalties. Yeah I don't like to use fake Chargers. It's very important to make sure you use original chargers that Apple approves even if they are a different design make sure they're approved
