Thanks for the link. Another great video showing that it doesn't matter what is given to you it's a structured approach and repair. Keep them coming.

Kudos to you mate I just fixed mine doing what you did and I have no experience what so ever in doing these things. Mine didn’t move like yours did but I believe I got it hot enough and place a little pressure so the ic board can connect more I guess and well it works my mic and calls work now thanks to you. All the other videos had you removing it and adding copper to this part and that part and you made it simple thank you for that.

You are a great technician... Many videos on extract, reball, cut here and cut there, do jump.... You simply did what is enough to fix the problem, and it was great. I still don't understand how you can put screws that were not in order, how you do it? What is the secret? I lose a lot of time to put it in order, so that i don't make mistakes when i reassemble everything.

Should be able to reaball existing chip and run c12 jumper. Just replacing it will have a repeat fail due to stress fractures.
@GregM6 жыл бұрын
Isn't this related to the known issue in iPhone7s where there is a flex issue with the phone along side of the SIM tray right where the Audio IC is located? It creates a solder connection on pad C12 on the audio to a nearby cap to fail. Soldering a jumper from this pad to the CAP solves audio issue with voice memos etc.
@electronicsrepairschool6 жыл бұрын
i dont really know, the phone had no lag.
@GregM6 жыл бұрын
Ya usually will notice a slow boot up when the C15 issue occurs or people not hearing you on cell call. Not being able to record or play back any voice memos is an indication a jumper may be required. I guess thats is the result of having " thinnest and lightest" iPhone yet design or heaven forbid people putting phones in their pockets.

also, when reballing BGA chips, lead-bearing solder has much higher stress tolerances and is more flexible.

You think the main issue was because the cell got too hot overtime, maybe placing a small amount of copper tape can fix the issue permanent after you reflow it. ? Awesome videos. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work.
@electronicsrepairschool6 жыл бұрын
yes, that what i'm thinking! Maybe a small piece of thermal pad will solve the issue

reflash the bios just in case but back it up 1st. if CPU soldered then you need an oscilloscope to see if CPU its active on the memory module. if the CPu the memory doesn`t start.

Bit of an amatuer really. Did'nt even switch the phone off before he started taking it apart. Working on what looks like a concrete slab, not ideal if you drop the phone on it. Also does'nt appear to be using any antistatic precautions. Schoolboy errors.
