1. Apple removed it because it is old tech 2. The result of losing the chunky headphone jack made space for a bigger battery 3. It also made it possible to have a bigger Taptic Engine making the fake home button possible. Many more reasons than just for profit. Also, charging ports are replaceable for around $10 - don’t get a new phone.

Yeah it’s to make it water resistant for 30 minutes and makes room for more. The jack doesn’t do much beside carry audio signal, so it needs its own amplifier and digital audio converter which your headphones can do. So removing it would make more sense.

I suddenly got recommendations of this video on KZbin so I thought to watch it. And I don’t think you need to bend it so badly that the phone gives away its own life. Neither I think that anyone could use a phone so badly. But it’s just a test where you could imagine how roughly and toughly you have to bend a phone to take away its life. Rest is history And I guess iPhone 7 is just very much durable. I’ve seen a lot of people using an iPhone 7 which still works like a beast in its performance and durability. And yes MATT BLACK IS STILL MY FAVORITE 🤩 COLOUR. ANYONE LOOKING TO BUY A USED 7 then go for Matt black.
