I had an iPhone 11 similar to the one in the video, we had just had the screen replaced by a phone repair shop and the screen was fine at first glance, but looking closer I noticed a part of the screen was slightly sticking out of the phone. The repair guy obviously never put any adhesive on to seal the screen. The phone got wet a few days later and the digitizer broke. I ended up buying a new screen and replacing it myself. Still, I forgot the adhesive but I plan to add that as soon as I can find the best waterproof adhesive on Amazon.

+1 Since I used an iPhone 4 and had most of the screws and brackets stolen/lost, I never went to fix a phone at a shop ever again. Fell in love with fixing phones and started building a collection of phones (iPhone 4 being the OG, in a working condition). Best hobby ever.

@@notkhaledkhalifa Same here! I had a Sony Ericsson that for some resond didn't turned on anymore from one day to another, send it to repair, came back unfixed, because "it has water damage" (I never let it in the water at all), and I guess since they don't have to repair it they also didn't bother to take the pieces they might need. The battery cover, the flash cover, some screws, and screws cover where missing. Since 5hat day not only I fix my phone by myself but I also keep a collection of all my previous phones, or broken phone from friend and family, that I fixed.

Can't agree with that honestly, the main problem is that most mall shops don't honour their mistakes and warranties, you make a good point but of course I'm biased as I work in one, but we honour our mistakes if we make them and customers are treated with genuine respect, no matter their situation, we don't see the jobs as just a transaction, people's lives are on those things

I've recently been the "second technician" on an IPhone 11 pro max. The person who replaced the screen and battery lost the motherboard bracket, which caused the main camera ribbon to disconnect. Furtermore - they installed a cheap IPS panel instead of an oled (with no gasket). Thankfully the only 3 things I needed to buy were the display, a new gasket and a new mb bracket.

The problem is often that the workshop says it is an Original part, but it is not! Original parts can only be purchased and exchanged by Apple IRP or Apple AASP, can be easily checked on Apple's official pages. As for the shopping center argument, it is wrong. We are located in a shopping centre, are in the Apple IRP program and have Apple certified technicians. We do both Apple genuine parts repair and nongenuine parts repair, but always inform our customer on the differences and consequences with nongenuine parts repair.
