great 5 month look back mark! agree with battery life, it may be good on the early days of the phone, but using it for years, that's where it might hurt a little bit. the only thing that i could see as an advantage for now is the current work from home setup of most people these days, the need for a "whole day battery life" might not be that needed for now, you can always charge your phone whenever you need to, like mine, that is currently sitting on the desk, charging as i work. lol. still loving this phone!!

It's also (usually, maybe not right now) fairly trivial to get an affordable and official battery replacement from Apple directly, which will keep the phone going strong for a few years after a replacement. I’ve watched lots of reviews on the new SE and i keep hearing these reviewers shit on this phone and I cant really figure out why. It’s a great phone. The battery gets me through most of the day ,a lot of times its gets me through the whole day. I’m a heavy user. I play games all day, i watch KZbin videos throughout the day from my favorite creators ,twitter and instagram all day and this phone serves me well in doing all of it. The camera is great but i do miss the ultra wide camera . That is the biggest thing I’m missing from this phone that was on the s10. The processor is lightning fast way better than the snapdragon that was on the s10. After buying this phone i got an iPad and the two work perfectly together. I finally understand the apple ecosystem. All in all i would recommend this phone to anyone it has 95 percent of the capabilities of the iPhone 12 for 50 percent of the cost win win

I got my new iPhone SE and I love it. I used to have a huewai p20 pro and upgraded for free through EE. I love the slick look, as I had the iPhone 7 many moons ago, like the old school look, but runs super fast, and of course Home Screen button works wonders in a mask pandemic world. Battery isn’t great but as long as you don’t use your phone 100% all day you’re gonna be fine. I recommend getting a 15w fast charger. Forgot to say I got AirPods with them part of my contacts and they’re AMAZING!

I’m using an iPhone SE to send this comment. Personally, this phone isn’t the best to me and I’m kinda sick of it. Performance is great but it’s just too small. It’s too small for my hands. Battery life isn’t that much of an issue to me because I don’t go places very often and it’s almost always on charge. I can trade this phone into Verizon and with my unlimited plan they will give me an iPhone 13 Pro for an insanely well price. By the way, I am a person who uses my phone way too much but like I said this things almost always on charge.

I got my iPhone SE five months ago because my 8+ was crap, there was no saving that phone, so out of desperation I bought the SE. I work in construction so my phones take a beating and the SE was the best deal I can find but i don’t regret it. I think I will get the 2022 version when I can. I have to take good pictures at job sites, and occasional thirst traps, so I’m pretty satisfied with the quality pics I get. Battery sucks but I expect that on how much I use my phone everyday.

I don't get why people were expecting the newer design for the SE. Isn't that the SE line's...thing? To use older designs?

I mean, there was only ever one before it, so we didn't really know what to expect. But we were hoping for a new design.

@@MarkSpurrell Sure I guess? Idk, I just assumed with the phones being special editions that it would be obvious they would use somewhat older designs, just with a few upgrades like more OS updates or a newer chip.

Apple missed the point of the original SE. It was just a talking and texting machine. Now it's a distraction like the iPhone 6. Instead of buying the SE2, I bought a new battery for my original SE.

Mark, I love your videos, they are useful and whenever I buy a device, I always know what to buy because of you. The point of all channels on KZbin is, in addition to success, answering important questions and learning new information every day. Even the number of subscribers is not the most important, but the content of the video is. Also, I consider it a kind of talent, it may be true that everyone can be a youtuber, but not everyone can record a good and quality video, extract reliable information from the video and so on. You are that talent, just keep going and millions of views and subscribers are waiting for you.👍

I think people are too hard on this phone because of battery life. I had it a few times and for me the bezels and letterbox screen was a bigger deal. But when you consider you get touch ID, great performance, great camera, long support, Apple Pay and even wireless charging it's a pretty great deal. For me, I was most always getting 4 and a half to 5 hours of screen on time. When you consider the s22 gets similar battery life, then you see people are selective in phones they trash

Thanks! You are the only youtuber who honestly bought forth how bad the battery life is on this phone. I've owned the 6s, and it was the same story for that phone within a year. Charging twice was the minimum requirement to get me through the day. And I immediately concluded that it would be the same with this new iphone with upgraded specs( if not, only a little better ). Subscribed! IF you want decent/good battery life , the notch iphones is the way to go ( or you could go for the Max versions of the older iphones if you can still get one)

"Value for money" isn't everything. I can't believe the world is so caught up in this concept. I totally understand saving money is everything at the end of the day. U save to buy a new phone. Well, let me tell u. Why don't u save some MORE money and buy a better phone that u really deserve. Go get the iPhone 11. Its a year old, but has a wide angle lens + night sight (which the SE shockingly doesn't). It's little more expensive yes, but it's well worth the savings. To me, this is real "value".

The battery life is not a real complaint since most people are still holding onto their 6 and 7s. It is the perfect upgrade and Apple understands that. Majority of people buying the Se are not media consumers and my co-worker who I recommended the phone is the prime example. She got the SE and is beyond happy that her battery is at 60% at the end of each day. It was a massive upgrade to her and that is the target this phone is for. Not us techies.

I am no expert on iPhone and I can assure you that I am a very light user. I have had an extremely difficult time with the iPhone SE 2020’s battery life. I owned it for 8 months and gave it to someone who really need an iPhone. I went back to my iPhone 8 which still serves me with satisfying battery life as of this moment. Now that Apple has announced the new iPhone SE 2022 last week with the same battery but promised better battery life, I will not touch it with a 10-foot pole.

I have owned both the IPhone 12 and SE… I see all these reviews, but let me clarify it’s all about personal preference. Personally, I work full time, so I don’t need it to surf the web all day, but when I do use it, it’s useful to have the finger print sensor especially in situations where you need to wear a mask. The speakers are also Plenty loud, I personally find the original IPhone 8 was one of apples best iPhones ever made, so the SE is just a great choice as it will be supported for years to come. Also very snappy with the IPhone 11’s guts. If you are coming from the IPhone 6/6s/7/8 you will feel right at home with this models with the updates of a modern device such as wireless charging.

I am still using the SE 2 for 4 years now. It still does everything I need it to, and it will soon update to iOS 18. Yes, it is a bit beat up, but that’s on me! I like the display. I have no problem watching videos on it. I actually prefer the original SE screen on a phone, as it makes it more portable. My battery is down to less than 80%, but I will soon replace it for free, after which I will drop the AppleCare insurance. But when the battery was 100% I never had any issue with battery life. Of course I have an iPad for video editing, productivity, and everything else that requires a lot of power. As a phone, the SE models work very well. Trying to make them into everything else degrades that primary function.

The same people that complain about battery life that I know all have a couple of things in common. They all have iPad, Apple Watch and Mac Book. I just have an iPhone and have no issue with the battery. 😂 it’s all in the settings. Read the manual and you’ll quickly learn that there is a lot of BS on your phone that you don’t need running and will probably never use.
