For me the only problem with this phone is the battery… if Apple could have made this phone like 1-2mm thicker with a bigger battery it would have honestly been the perfect iPhone imo
@techno_eclipse5 ай бұрын
I am almost done with using it for a week and I do not have any complaints about the battery. I have not had reason to push it, like using maps for an extended period of time. But I agree, it is tiny, 1800 mAh I believe

@@techno_eclipse 1800?? Thats nothing! Also the phone cant be made thicker because it's bassicly an iphone 8
@98523235 ай бұрын
You can buy 2300MAH batteries that fit in the phone. There was absolutely no reason for apple to only put a 1800MAH battery in there. 2300MAH is barely thicker than 1800MAH

A better alternative to this phone would be the SE 2022 edition - it essentially has the same body but with an A15 bionic chip (exactly the same as in the iPhone 13 line-up, therefore longevity), improved battery life, and 5G support (I found that turning this off and switching to 4G actually boosts the battery life a bit). I bought a refurbished one a few months ago to keep as a spare/minimal weekend phone - but it turned out to be in mint, like-new condition, with 100% battery health AND still within the Apple warranty period. All for £210 (about $264) which is excellent value for money in my opinion. Love the home/Touch ID button also, absolute joy to use and brings me back to my iPhone 6S days many years ago.

The design is perfect. I just got rid of my new iPhone 14 and went and bought myself an iPhone SE 2. It is cheap, much more comfortable, portable, easy to use (bezels + home button). I will probably by the newer SE 3 in a year or so and hold on to it for as long as possible. I've had the 5C, SE (1st gen), 8, XS, 12 mini, 14 in the past so far.

I intend to use my phone as a phone so the battery isnt an issue for me. I really like the small form factor and the home button. I dont really take a lot of fancy photos either. My only issue however is that its using a lightning cable which is going to phase out sooner. I would have gone with the 13 mini if not for the lightning cable. Se4 is going to be 6.1 inch which is going to be the next smallest phone sizes available in the more mainstream market.

Still using a 2020 second gen SE in 2024! The latest OS still runs perfectly on it. I prefer a smaller smartphone with touch-ID, and i don't dislike the top and bottom bezels (i see it as a feature. I can actually hold the phone without unwanted display gestures happening). If the 4th SE generation drops the touch ID (and doesn't put it on the power botton like iPads), i'll probably just upgrade to the 2022 third generation, hah

I don't pay for icloud. I use my old nexus 5 running android 13 and spoofed it to look like the first pixel. I got unlimited storage on google photos. I just transfer the photos from my iphone to the android. Sometimes, I just transfer the photos to my laptop and archive it on my external SSD. My current EDC is a 12 mini and the nexus while my first gen SE is a backup in my drawer just in case a phone breaks.

At first, I thought, "What the heck is Apple thinking when they released this?" But I then realized it was a smart move on many levels. It's an iPhone that was released during the Covid pandemic: where many were loosing their jobs, wearing masks and prior to that it would have been a pain to remove your mask just to use face unlock and then have to put your mask back on so you wouldn't get exposed to the virus. And then this budget friendly, old but familiar and loved design with new specs comes in. Touch ID came back, the size making it comfortable to even use one handed when new phones are so big they are literally the size of tablets. The fact that it will even have the latest software updates for a few more years will make this phone last longer, and will have the same optimized performance as the overpriced flagships. It also targeted markets for those that have been using an iPhone 6, 7, or 8 and are willing to upgrade to the SE because of the same physical design and doesn't hinder their muscle memory, or spend more money to get new accessories when their old accessories will work on the SE. Or the market for those that don't want to spend lots and are getting the SE as an entry to the Apple ecosystem. Or the market that needs a phone with an LCD because they get sick from PWM (pulse width modulation) that OLED screens cause.

been using the se 2020 pretty much since it came out. biggest thing for me is honestly the smaller form factor and touch id. i dont do a crazy amount of social media and most of my content viewing is on desktop which makes it a great daily driver for me. (tho def would have copped a 12/13 mini if i didnt have this already) Only 2 downsides is the camera (which i suppose is expected, but still, it's pretty meh), and the battery. idk what it was with this phone specifically, but the % literally dropped to like 85% within the first year of owning it. At this point im getting like 3-4hrs screen time before i need a charge. Also, pretty sure ios 17 been draining the battery more than usual. Phone been getting oddly hot just doing regular tasks and a lot of apps run noticeably slower than before.

Something interesting to note with the iPhone SE2 is that while it uses the A13, it uses a unique A13 that has 3GB of RAM, as opposed to the 11 line which has 4 GB. Funny enough, the iPad 9th Gen uses the same A13 with 3 GB of RAM as the SE2.
