If your iPhone SE is not charging correctly... there are a few possible solutions. If you are sure that your charging cable works just fine. Make sure there is no dust or lint down inside your charging port. Lint build up can keep your charger from going in all the way. You can stick a thin wood or plastic tooth pick inside the port to clean it out.
If that STILL doesn't work, you will probably need to replace the charging port. Only attempt this repair if you feel confident in your abilities.
There are two screws at the bottom of the Apple iPhone SE. After that you should disconnect and remove the screen. Although not mandatory... it will be easier in the long run because you wont have to worry about hurting the iphone screen cables while you work on the charging port.

I've changed SE screens and batteries, but never the charging port. It was certainly harder than those other things, but I got through it. Things to check at the end of the process include the headphones, microphone, charger, and speaker. When I was done, the speaker didn't work because the contacts weren't perfectly lined up. I took it back apart and adjusted it and that solved it. Thanks for the vid. Couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you thank you thank you! My phone wouldn't charge, couldn't afford a new one, and absolutely did not have the time to drive to the nearest repair shop. Your tutorial, along with about $20-$30 worth of parts, tools, and rush shipping - it works again. I cannot even express how grateful I am for this video and for your recommendations on finding the right parts.

The "Make sure your charging port is clean from dust and lint before you start taking things apart. Sometimes this will solve your problem." notice is no joke! Thanks so much for that! I cleaned my port (used some alcohol+cotton on a metal toothpick and then a needle to clean out residue) and it seems to have worked. Thanks a lot.

Thank you jerry for the information. My iPhone SE was not charging properly due to a buildup layer of lint and dust. I was about to pay $250 for an entire port replacement. Just before i saw your video and read the description. I removed the lint layer and now it’s working fine. I’m a big fan. Thank you soooooo much.

Thanks so much for your video! I follow everything except how to remove the home button port connector from the old charging port assembly. I purchased a replacement assembly but it didn’t appear to have a home button connector. I know I’m almost there, but could really use some help. I’m a 75 year old, disabled veteran and really trying to accomplish this myself. Thanks!

Thank you for DCing the battery before the screen! This is a big problem among the repair world and is particularly problematic with the 6S series phones as not DCing the battery before the screen can cause backlight issues after a repair when the BL circuit is shorted while under power (the iPad mini is also particularly prone to BL circuit damage if the battery is left plugged in before screen changes). Also, thanks for reminding people to keep track of their screws! I've seen 3 iPhone 6's and 1 5S in the last week with long-screw damage (putting a long screw in one of the short screw posts, then torquing it down - this causes the screw to twist into the logic board below and damage circuit pathways under the screw post). Keep up the great work! :)

Success!!! Thanks for the video. I did this today. Took an hour and half and was very fiddly and given I'm 53, with the eyesight to match, it was quite an effort to see these tiny, tiny screws and fixings etc. I'd recommend using one of those magnifying glass tripod thingies, if you have access to one. But, in the end, all fixed and working again. Definitely not for the faint hearted or cack handed, that's for sure.

Took all day. Installed a new battery while I had it open. Was feeling confident when I got it all back together, but... Now 2am. Lost the Home button which had no problem before. Tried reconnecting the ribbon cable several times. Always looks good, but still no Home. Also lost the charger port completely. Old one was working intermittently. New one feels tighter, but no charge at all. I'll take it to a store and check it with a new lightning cable again. Then I guess I'll take it apart again later. Or just get a new phone. Love my SE.

Great presentation (thumb up for) but misses the own boat taken. You do not change or fix the charging pod as stated - you change the whole bay. Me wanted to replace the Apple USB port for a micro USB. That's why I guessed a starter from you i.e. at least see the 5V pins to attach leads to a second slot made because there is some space for it left to the battery. Further advice in that direction is appreciated.
