My iPhone 12 has been acting up for a month now. Nobody touched it but it shows the iPhone is unavailable almost every week. I wait for the 15 minutes to go and then unlock the phone. But can I know some reasons as to why this is happening? It is a bit scary. What could be the reason for my phone to get locked automatically? This only happens when I am not in the room. Can I suspect hacking? Or is it because of some software issue? Please guide me.

Resetting iPhone from iTunes doesn't need Apple ID password.

It means that your iPhone isn't connected to a wifi network right now. You can try to find a wifi internet which you've recently connected to (home, company, coffee shop, etc.). Then, put your phone near there to see if it can connect to the wifi.

@@Brainwavemusic697 Just keep entering the wrong passcode for the screen lock. You'll need to wait quite a while with every attempt but eventually it'll just say iPhone Unavailable. At that point you'll be given an option for emergency call or delete iPhone. In my case I didnt have the delete option so i put the phone into maintinence mode and connected it to iTunes on my computer. Then once connected I clicked Restore. It should reset the iPhone as if it's newely bought.
