yah bro even in low light you can even see the pictures on there it's much more improvement than on the Xs and on Portrait mode instead of the other iphones being so much upclose , on the Xr it's much more open space and you'll still get the bokeh on point. One extra camera doesn't cost $250 more, XS has much more to offer: better OLED display with higher resolution, narrower bezels, 3D touch, 4GB ram, IP68 rating, more premium stainless steel build, portrait mode for objects. The question should be, does all of these combinedly worth the extra $250.

I maybe years late to comment, but I would like to point out why XR's portrait shots look brighter than the XS'. Since XR has single camera with f/1.8 aperture, the software does the blur. The XS, on the other hand, uses its telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture when taking portrait photos.

Very attracted to the XS zoom, but I already have a Moment telephoto lens, so I can get a good zoom with the $30 or so it will cost for a Moment case vs. $250 extra for XS. It's definitely not as convenient as just clicking the button on the screen, but I usually know in advance when I'm going to want to use the telephoto. Bottom line: I'm ready to upgrade, and it looks like XR has almost everything I want.

Telephoto second camera has always been garbage on iPhones. 1 micron pixel size leaves out way too much. Better off not having it. Get Halide app to take bokeh portraits of anything.

I dunno if it's my XS phone but it seems to take worse pictures than my dad's XR. Specifically, I took a picture of the tv on its stand with the windows behind it. It rendered the cabinet i shadowy blob (poor dynamic range). Then I had my dad take the same pic with his XR. It showed what I've long suspected...better dynamic range as the tv stand was a bit visible and both phones were in the same position when the shots were taken.
