Before you decide to buy or are quick to judge...DO WHAT I DID: I went to the Apple store and put all three phones (XR, XS, XS Max) together and ran about 6 videos simultaneously. Brightness turned all the way up and True Tone turned off on all 3 devices. The sales associate at the apple store even helped me with this. Honestly...they all looked the same to the naked eye. Most ppl if any wouldn’t even notice the difference. I was surprised how the XR did and in some aspects I thought it did better than the XS Max on certain scenes. The XS and XS Max did look better on the home screen. If you care about build quality, no bezel, 3D Touch and want to brag about having the better phone then buy the XS or XS Max. Build quality doesn’t necessarily matter to me cause I’ll be using a case. The bezel I’ve stopped noticing was even there. To me the size of the XR is perfect. And the battery life is awesome. That’s why I chose the XR.

Which to buy? iPhone XR : Good if you want one thats medium priced, if you dont care about the bezels and the quality. iPhone XS : Pretty good sized screen, price of the iPhone X, and basically the same as the XR. iPhone XS Max : If you want a huge screen phone, get this. Pretty good features. Nothing much to say. Extras : I dont recommend upgrading to any of these, if you have an iPhone X or an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8+. If you have an older one, like the iPhone 7, 6 or 6s and you dont have enough for the XS or XS Max, get the XR. If you're not on a budget and you have an iPhone 6,6s or 7, get the iPhone XS If you're switching from an android, same. If your on a budget, get the XR. If you're not on a budget, get the XS or the XS Max. Hope that helped! Edit: If you dont want any of these, i would recommend the iPhone 8+.

Because even if they sell a phone with a 720p screen in 2018 for the price of a flagship, bump up the prices each year, remove the headphone jack for no reason, get rid of the fingerprint scanner and introduce a more time consuming method to turn on your phone, sell services to fix broken screens and backs that should cost like 10-20$ for 100$+ and not even include fast chargers with their flagship phones that support it, everyone will still be like "muh android bad, lol peasants can't afford gud phone" Absolutley pisses me off to see comments like these everywhere. I have a friend who owns the Xs max, and her phone is huge and annoying to her. You guys should at least hold the phone and use it before you commit to either one. I’m going from a 6s to the XR, and holding it and using it in store was better than any video I could watch. It was better, faster than my 6s but not as large as the Max, or with the same capabilities, but the battery life, faster processor and camera was worth the upgrade. Hope this helps!!

what if this is a STRATEGY? my theory (please read on, TRUST MEEE): - the Xr is priced specifically to make the Xs look like a more logical choice. - if you want the new iphone, and you consider the X, you'll probably wait for the next one, as Xs feels like an iterative update as it's meant to be. - this might have hurt the sales of Xs, as a lot of people wouldn't find much reason to upgrade if they had last year's X. - if customers are ready to shell out AT LEAST $749, chances are they can afford the Xs anyway. - so the Xr doesn't make much sense (also, rather than going for a maxed out Xr, people will prefer buying the base Xs). - last year, the 8's sales were mainly due to people feeling comfortable with a familiar design & touch id, and not because they were priced cheaper than the X. - Xr is disguised well under all that marketing. it's INTENTIONALLY meant to feel inferior, making the Xs better just by comparison. a lot of companies have done this before. so, who knows? maybe this is apple being smart.

So I got XR 128 GB today fort 850$ at apple store. To be honestly, I like XR better than XS, dont know why, just a preference. XR just feel like "more apple device", it looks actually cooler, its for sure better than just regular XS 5.8 inches for its big crisp display. By the way, you wont really notice a difference between OLED display and LCD, unless you put two phone next to each other. XS just has a very unreasonable features in my option that you have to pay more and probably wont ever needed, even if you an advance user. By the way, both phones supports HDR feature. Differences are very minimal in my opinion: Cat12 1Gb LTE chip instead of CAT8 600MB LTE chip. (Do you really need extra 400Mb, does your carrier even bypass 200Mb mark? or your WIFI?). IP68 vs IP 67, - ok ,I get it, you wanna swim with your phone a half a meter deeper! Aluminum vs Steel, aluminum feel better in my opinion and lighter. Second camera on the back, that feature is nice, but I dont need it for extra 300$, I can by a go pro for this extra. 3GB RAM vs 4GB, - 1 GB is used for second camera anyways...

@Danny Mccallister specs aren't the best...I had better with samsung, especially the camera!! I worked for ATT and specs for samsung are way better..just wait for the S10..I had a apple and it isnt a reliable phone so go waste money on a overpriced trashy phone darling. Hahahaha..

That's not a fair comparison. Compare 3G to 3GS, 4 to 4S. These new XS are just S models so it makes sense that there won't be too many changes.
