I upgraded from an iPhone 6 to the XR and I love it! Don't let the "bad rep" fool you, the display is perfectly fine for everyday use. You'd have to be a spec sheet nerd or downgrading from an OLED display to even notice. Oh, and the battery life is great! I use social media a lot but I still only have to charge it every other day. My only "complaint" is that it's a little bit too big for my hand and pretty heavy. I think with my next phone, I'll downsize a bit just for everyday convenience. Other than that, instant recommend! The chip is a couple of years old by now but it still works great, hasn't slowed down any and I don't expect it to any time soon.

​@@Schmuly it is all about choice and taste. If you offer me S10 or XR, I would take XR anytime. The only Android I would maybe choose over XR is Oneplus 7 Pro. Btw. I'm using iPhone XR 128GB, the battery is awesome (used i7 Plus before XR), Camera is probably a bit better than S9 (not S10) and Video is better than any phone which is important to me. The display is not better than S9 ofc, but it is not that important to me since XR display is really color-accurate, natural vivid and bright enough. And ofc we don't need to even say anything about iOS, so smooth. There are only two downsides with XR and thats slow FACE ID and RAM Management while using 3G/4G internet network.

Don’t dismiss the iPhone XR display as “just good” .. it is almost as good as iPhone XS. You only notice a slight difference when watching videos shot in dark since blacks aren’t pitch black. That’s about it. I’ve compared with iPhone XS and in 95 percent of the time I couldn’t tell them apart in terms of display quality.

Joseph Albon I went from a 6Plus to the XR in early March of this year. The display is better. We may have different priorities though. I don’t really care about camera or display. As long as it isn’t hideous I don’t mind. What I do care about is battery life and genera performance. Which the XR is very good at. And it’s a good price as well. I got mine for $550. If you’re more into cameras and stuff like that then I’d recommend one of the 11s

It’s just not really the focus of the design. Might be worth getting anyway if you need a new phone. The XR is. Good deal right now and the battery life is top of the line.

Average use? 8 hours of battery life, and it's Not the greatest but still long enough to use for an "average use", it's decent and battery life seems good. Still an improvement from my old S8.

And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️The true joy of Christ dwells in me!!! Does it in you? I know where I'm going when I die! Do you? I have an ETERNAL victory! Do you? I have more joy than ever because of what Christ has done. I have been down both roads. The road of the wicked and the road of Christ. Christ is way better and my cup runneth over with true joy and salvation. If you do not know the One true God and are not sure of your salvation, I promise He will never fail you. Turn to Him in repentance and faith. Repent means to confess and forsake your sins, never turning back to them. I tried changing on my own but I couldn't. It took the power of Christ on the inside of me to do it for me. I have to admit I am a STRONG BIG TIME Samsung fan and have enjoyed my S9 Plus for a long time now. BUT I got an I Phone XR as a gift and though "what the hell" lets give it a try. I have to admit it! This is a great phone. Screen is sweet the actions are smooth and fast. It looks great and feels more high quality in every way than my Samsung S9. I hate to have to admit it. Even though every technical fact should point me towards saying that the XR sucks.... BUT it just does not. It is a cool, fast great phone. Plus the screen size is PERFECT and the battery goes forever!!!!!! My S9 battery died in 4 hours. On this thing I am getting into day two on ONE CHARGE..... So BOTTOM LINE the XR rocks. This is my review NOT based on technical specifications. But pure user experience.... TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS......

Where I live, the iPhone XR costs more than a Galaxy Note 9. And it costs more than 50% more than a OnePlus 6T. Unless you're neck deep in the Apple ecosystem, there is absolutely 0 reason to buy this phone over the Note 9, or even the OP 6T for the more money-conscious people.

@@eliashh1601 You're right on Apple's better software support, although most people that are buying 800+ dollar phones are on a 2-3 year upgrade cycle. The A12 is great, but it's not worth the trade-off of the screen. Use cases that can really harness the extra power (photo/video editing, gaming etc.) are all negatively affected by the lower res. Not to mention things like media consumption, which people do a lot of on their phones nowadays. I think the Note 9 is a better phone, but based on you being so offended by someone saying Samsung is better that you had to brain vomit a comment that is barely coherent, I'd say we just agree to disagree and leave it at that.

The 4x4 MIMO tech which enables gigabit LTE speeds on the Xs isn't just for reaching ridiculous speeds. It helps in all situations, especially weak signal scenarios where it can be the difference between no working data at all and a few Mbps. Even if the tower doesn't have 4x4 MIMO there's still a benefit, just not as much as if both the phone and tower had it.

Apple will never give it a proper laptop OS as that will seriously damage their Macbook sales. So it’s a slam dunk of a product for niche professionals, and an overpriced one for everyone else.

Me personally think of it as a extended helper/tool for my work as it's making my life more productive. However, the iPad was never set out to replace the laptop. Same thing how the iPhone was never going to replace the laptop, even tho both phones and tablet nowadays has equivalent performance to a laptop and a lot of the functionality. All these three devices has it's own strength and weaknesses, it mostly depends if the tablet is suited for you or not. I personally would be fine with a Workstation at home and a Tablet on the go. But many of my friends go with the largest powerful Laptop they can and a very large phone. I remember when the iPhone Appstore was new and it got spreadsheet software, it was so terrible because of the 'small' screen, but as a overall phone and music player the iPhone was great because of the 'large' screen at the time. My thing is about all these new iPhone line ups is that it's so expensive, they could have used a different processor used in the X and made it so that the color line up stayed the cheaper phone, because this price point is still flag ship stand point, apple isn't even really selling as much as they used to and Android has completely taken over the market at this point, I don't think apple is going anywhere they have too much money but the only innovation that we have really seen recently from apple is the notch, there are phones coming out that can charge your phone using wireless charging, that's amazing, I don't know what apple is going to do besides make everything more expensive but I can barely justify my note 9 purchase that was around 1300 bucks but there is no way you can justify buying an iPhone XS Max just because spec and feature wise they're on completely different levels due to productivity.

I just got this phone in 2020, and I have to admit I have always been a Samsung fan boy yet I am completely blown away by this phone, the os is smooth, battery life and dual speakers are amazing. I think I will stick to iPhones from now on.

bro, thats just the xr of 2018. i also love samsung but. i tried the iphone 12 (newest iphone) and... DAMN, ITS SOOOO AMAZING! like now i understand why apple makes there phones so high price, its coz there just so smooth and the ui is super freindly, really simple to use. looks amazing! like i was one of the people that used to hate on apple until i got the 12 and used it for myself. yep. im definitly sticking to iphones from now on. people say that samsungs are cheaper but no, the newest samsung is literally 200 bucks more expencive that the newest iphone. also one more thing, every app in the iphones all run soooooo smoothly on the iphones and are well optimized for the iphones, even social media and stuff, like in the samsung s21 even there are tons of apps that dont run well at all! im genuinly impressed with how good the iphones are!

If it is bad, really people won’t buy it. Trust me, even giant brand like Apple won’t get away with it. You actually forget few things, people don’t buy iPhone just for the specs, they buy it because of iOS and ease of use, great ecosystem and better support. You all should realise that not everyone is going to buy phone and setup for custom roms and other customization. People like to buy finished product, and that exactly what Apple product is, a finished product.

That is what Apple was a decade or so ago. With all the bugs and mass product recalls every generation they are no longer that. Their new model is Maximum return (to shareholders) for minimum investment (besides marketing). They are now all about milking the brand loyalty they have build up over the last 20+ years (and investing in emerging technologies that will help them serve corporate customers with deeper pockets subsidized though the exploitation of their mainstream consumers).

i have no idea why people mind the Xr's resolution and exagerrates that they're very noticeable to other with higher ppi's. i have an S8 with crazy 570ppi also my previous phone was iPhone SE and 7 which has the same 326ppi as Xr, and they have amazing display, i often compared my S8 screen to Xr in the Apple Store, and still i can't notice the difference in sharpness except S8 is more vibrant because an AMOLED, but man Xr has incredible display too with more colour accurate. i think having more than 326ppi is pointless except you use your phone like 1 mm away

If for some reason anyone sees this, 5 years later, I’m upgrading to a 16. The Xr was amazing, it served me really well, battery after all this time is still good, the only thing is that (obviously) it’s become a little slow, and laggy sometimes, so when I’m playing a game like Soul Knight with lots of things going on the screen, or just typing fast. Regardless, it was absolutely amazing, worth everything, and I love how back then I needed an upgrade from the 5, and a blue iPhone was available, everything lined up, now the ultramarine is the best I can get honestly, and I doubt we’ll get another blue like the Xr, so I’m satisfied.

bought XR Black and just loved it :). Many peoples (especially android lovers) complaining about the display, 3D touch and pixel, but this will not make any sense for a normal user. You cannot even realize the difference in display until you compare XS and XR side by side (may need magnifying lens to find it out :P). This have the best battery life too. Upgraded from Iphone 6s and its really really really worth.
