Phone cameras nowadays are incredible yet they will never be able to replace actual mirrorless or dslr cameras of course..if you’re looking to shoot really good travel videos a camera is a must :)

Adnan A Personally I would say point and shoots are not worthless! This is because the image sensor is much bigger meaning you get a much cleaner, less compressed image. Not to mention the different focal length capabilities giving allowing your shots to be more creative/unique. Also you can change the battery’s and SD cards meaning if you run out of storage or battery it can be easily replaced. The low light capabilities will most likely be much better and of course as you mentioned most have flip out screens great for vloggers. There just a few reasons why I think point and shoots are great!

Always love your content. Seems like people are sill thinking that shooting on a phone is a budget way of filmmaking... iPhone is 1100 and gimbal is 300. People, for a $1400 budget you can get a full frame Sony a7 w/ 28-70 lens for $999 and have plenty of left over money for a good phone.

But That Sony unable to shoot at 4k. And a gimbal for a dedicated camera is much, much more expensive. Btw, that 28-70 kit lens is a crap lens. Should have not be paired with a full frame camera like A7 series. Unlike fujifilm which makes great kit lens such as 18-55 2.8-4. I read somewhere that youtube prefer videos to be uploaded in 4k. Forgot the reason why. So there you go, buying a full frame A7 without 4k capability is like going backwards.

Stunning clips, but I feel like the problem with any mobile footage is the fact that there is no depth of field, everything seems to be constantly in focus, it's very hard to get any blur on objects in the foreground or background. This is a great proof of concept, but I'd be curious to know if there's any way to emulate that camera look and get "less" things in focus, as well as make sure things aren't quite as sharp and jarring.
