One could really make an argument that Meta is trying to purposley make the iphone / ios experience worse for apple users so they switch to android. This is most likely because Apple's privacy restrictions block Meta's tracking which is their revenue generator. I wonder if someone could find code in their apps that attempts to ramp up the GPU to drain battery.

I don't know by one difference I noticed between the two accounts is the number of reel / videos in the page is drastically different, so maybe their is some preloading and buffering being done by instagram that is coursing the spike in performance, and if instagram video format is not one the built in video decoder supports, then it will shift that processing to the CPU for processing.. and so if your page is Manley reels, stories, and groups with video... if might be triggering the issue... but just a guess and observation.

What if i told you that my iphone 14 pro is running on ios 16.6.1 and its not overheating or having any of the issues being experienced since the iphone 15 and ios 17 came out? Theres the flaw in your testing there, you didnt compare software versions, probably because you rushed to update all your devices and apple doesnt allow their devices to revert softwares unless from a backup. Cannot rule out current software if you havent experimented with other versions! Hope you lead the people in the right direction with your testing in the future!

I want someone to investigate the background processes. What is getting processed, is it just incompotence or something malicious going on, are some accounts tagged and under surveillance? Otherwise, i expect everyone to be hit, not some particular users. Are the settings on both accounts the same, especially related to advertisement and technical feedback, what is the network usage during that, facebook, meta, instagram, whatever they are called today, has pretty bad record regarding personal information. When it comes to giant corporations, always assume the worst.
