Finally, a thorough, thoughtful and complete tutorial on the subject! I opened this tutorial on both my Win10 and Win11 computers and literally stepped through each step in succession. The only difference I made is rather than create a share file on each computer, I made a single share folder which is now accessible on three shared computers. Any file dropped into the folder is immediately available on the other two. I love it when a plan (finally) comes together!

@@warpampee Once you create a shared folder on one computer which can be access on the other computer, that's all. You can use that folder to share files between the two computers just like using external drive or usb drive.

I like your short straight to the point video which makes perfect sense to me. I have tried doing this so many times. My main Desk Top (Windows 11) PC does not see the second PC (Windows 10 Lap Top) at all. I have tried so many times, via Ethernet, and also via wifi. The Main PC always fails to see the second PC.

1. The first and second computers must be connected to the same Wi-Fi router. 2. Creating an icon sometimes solves the problem: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmGvfKaKg9mDsMU 3. And most importantly, you must carefully follow the steps from the video and try not to make mistakes.

@@ipMalik Hello ipMalik Thank you very much for yourt kind reply. I only have one router at home, and both PC's are reading my BT (password) named router, so no issues there (as far as I know). I have come to the conclusion that the second PC (Lap Top) has locked it's self out from being discovered, if that is at all possible? Last night I had 3 PC's talking to each other, but within 20 minutes none of them were discoverable again? I get this all the time. I have been shareing for years, but the shared connection always fails, normally on upgrades. I am quite used to setting up 2 or 3 home PC's. I'm thinking, all the recent upgrades have caused my current issues. Over the years I have used external automation cards, and often following a windows upgrade it would kill the connection with the said card(s). I have no complaint with your excellent video. @@ipMalik There is another way of doing this, but only because one can, as it saves the user no time. Upload a said file to one's cloud. Go to the other PC and log-in to the cloud, and then start the download to that PC. It sort of defeats the object, 😃

For a while my pc could not locate the other device. I recalled configuring one of my network guest addresses to not allow visitors to discover/see any of my network devices but access to internet only. Once I switched to a network address without that setting, this worked as planned. Thanks again...good stuff.

This video actually helped me do this. I've been trying to get the damn computers to show up in the network, and they never did, but the shortcuts and the hidden "All Networks" properties at the bottom helped tremendously. Microsoft really doesn't want you to own your own network.

Very clear and understandable instructions, that enable most general users to create their own home sharing network. One always has to remember that you can always make any existing folder viewable by going into the properties and enable the sharing function, and it should be viewable on however many computers you have on the network.
