iPod Touch 2nd Gen was my introduction to the Apple ecosystem and the first computing/ communication device of my own. I think having a super cheap super simple device that runs iOS is still relevant and is great for kids and teenagers.

My memory with the ipod touch is when I first bought the 2nd generation ipod touch in early 2009. At the time, it was state of the art compared to regular ipods, ipod nanos, and what I had before that which was the original Zune 30 gb from 2006.

I think I’m gonna get the ipod. For $200 i can have an extra iOS device to go running with and bring to places where I’d be less likely to take my iPhone. Put more music on it, use it when i let my phone charge, etc.

For quite some time I’ve been wanting to get the seventh generation so I got it. It only took me a couple days to realize that the battery did not charge at all I took it to the Apple Store and had to get it looked at about four times in the same week. They sent me a new one for free only for me to find out it also had problems the screen would shut off whatever it wanted and it would take hours for the battery to drain and work again and just keep doing that. I am now waiting to get my third iPod in a different colour from the company site let’s hope the 3rd works

Have a Mac on Mac OS Catalina. Download Xcode from the App Store onto the Mac. After that you can download the IPSW of iOS 13 for the XS and connect your phone to your Mac. Once it’s connected, go to finder, click on your phone and where it says “check for update” hold option then click it and select the ipsw file you saved earlier. It’ll then update to iOS 13 for ya. I’ve been running it since Tuesday and I love it! Dark mode is fantastic.

Now you’ve made that little tech geek in me want this iPod so badly. And not just because it’s Apple but because I never got one. Been wanting one for a decade mostly because it’s just such a cool tech. I’ve got relatively “cheap” Bluetooth headphones couple years ago and they cut off occasionally while being in my bag with a wallet getting between them and my phone. They should take the beats Pro headphones wireless headphones and that big ungodly case, and use some of the space in that to house the internals of an iPod so that you could play your music right from the case into your headphones! Control completely via voice command and touch response to the headphones!

Fillip, I have an iPhone XR and I just recently got AirPods gen 2 with the old case, about 2 weeks ago, but the range is only about 10-15 feet. Have you ever seen or heard about this happening or do you know why? The only reason I can think of is that my phone is only on iOS 12.1 cuz I’m too lazy to update it.😁This is a really annoying thing so it would be great if you would answer this if you knew why.
