I met an IPS named Pankaj Darard (IG SSB) whose 2/3rd body was burnt due to IED blast in Kashmir two and half decades ago. I met him few years ago while doing my job as a salesperson. I saw both of his hands, particularly left hard had 3rd degree burnt skin scars, when asked he told me that horrendous story- how his troops were ambushed. Tremendous amount of respect for those brave sons and daughters of mother India. 🙏

I am amazed by the preparation he had done for the interview! Unblemished memory! He remembers every incident and the dates with precision! Remember, he worked in the years when mobiles and internet didn't exist. He is still alive 🙏 and it's nothing less than a miracle. Hats off to our government for providing him security until now! Literally this man is a living legend! Yes, as he said, the police officers and their families live their difficult lives among these militants. How comfortable we are, sitting at our homes and watching this!
