I am actually in the Melbourne foothills. Have been following your site for a few monthys and really enjoying, has helped motivate me to get back out into the garden after a couple of years ( due to health reasons). Not SEQ, I am in the hills behind Melbourne, and have been following your site for a few months, it helped get me motivated to get back out into the veggie patch after a couple of years of neglect due to health reasons. Have cleaned up 6 raised beds and have been planting out over the last couple of weeks, not idle time but better late than never

Blue skies & nice breeze here at the moment John.. The SES are out down the back so will wait for them to make the roads safe then will be going for a walk to see if any help is needed.. They have cleared a few trees from the yard we could see that got flooded.. Luckily the house stayed about the high water mark :D

Just went for a walk & all appears to be fine around our block... There are others in lower areas of Ipswich that were flooded but road is at a standstill with workers, sightseers & some schools have opened as it is the first day of our school year here.. Rather silly I think...

I saw that it was moving off of Sydney this morning... Walked the block & luckily no one was effected here... 2 wet front lawns is all I saw. :) Let you get some shut eye now... Take it easy John

The river has fallen a few meters so that a good sign... The SES are cleaning off the road so will go for a walk soon... The prairie flooding would be interesting to see Dale..

I am glad things didnt turn out too badly for you. We had a busy night at work with automatic fire alarms going off with all the rain but things did not go as bad as they predicted for Sydney thankfully. Hopefully those affected can recover as quickly as possible.

The other bridge into town was cut so they all came down that street (which is also our street) to get through to the other side of town.. The road was chockers for 3 days.. Have a good one Adubb :)»

Has the water reached it's peak so it can start to recede now. Fortunately there isn't anything that can flood where I live but I'm always amazed when the Red River floods out on the Canadian Prairies something to do with the way that it flows and the flatness of the prairies but weeks after the rain they are still waiting for it to crest.

Would be awesome if you can go back after the levels return to normal, refilm what you just filmed and make a composite before and after video.
