It's always better the second time you do something! Always interesting seeing different players defence and attack.

Please repeat this format. It was very fun looking at the same scenario played by multiple players, especially those players of the caliber this round.

There are a fair number of similar IR videos. This year they did one on "One Story Town" already. Last year the tournament scenarios were "The Good Shepherd", "Shotgun Shuffle", "Guryev's Headquarters" and "Signal Hill". There are also videos on previous years' tournaments but I can't remember which scenarios featured in those!

Always a pleasure to see a new IR video. Interesting to see captured KV in German colours - what do they come in? The BFP pack itself?
@IRLBemused4 ай бұрын
Never mind, I see they are provided in the pack. Divorce story gave me a chuckle. There's two lads who have their priorities straight!

The final two log files for my game against Tom Repetti seem to have been missed out. German armour tried to get across the wire in O4 and P3 but ran into AT mines. The German 10=2 leader also died and the concession came on turn five with only one mobile German AFV left onboard. Very much enjoyed playing Tom again. I think that an "Alamo" defence is the way to go for the Russians but it will be interesting to see what the experts think!

Hey Doug, not too sure what happened to your last 2 turns. I will have a look. I will certainly make an apology on IR203 for them being missed. Me and Dave were surprised to see Tom resign without giving it a go. Looks like an epic match.

A great use for a 6+1 is to give the bugger an ATR...

Great scenario. Just checked ROAR, and it's 33:31. Lots of matches, and pretty darned close. I wrote an article on this one, that never got published. I think the BFP guys are in possession of that article. I really liked Dave's defensive setup as soon as I saw it.

Do you still have a copy? Would be good if you posted it on the Illuminating Rounds page on Game Squad.

@@douglasleslie400 I wouldn't have thrown it away, but I gave it to BFP. I think they may still intend to use it somewhere.

The hidden unit denying Control thing is a factor in some games and can catch you out. As the attacker well its something you should plan for and allocate forces to searching or physically occupying locations, there's also mopping up to consider and the associated issue of no quarter. As the defender, well you sort of need to be crafty but if your opponent isn't looking for stuff I think you need to think about remind them. You end up doing what you think is right and hopefully can avoid judging other people for doing things different.

At the 10.33 mark, if that AT Gun had been on the very edge of the board (say in the woods hex) and A12.15 applied, would the German unit just be moved back off-board?
@douglasleslie4004 ай бұрын
This is covered in A2.5. The German unit has to attempt to enter on the next game turn within four hexes of the scheduled entry point.

@@douglasleslie400 Thanks. So it couldn't come back on in the Advance Phase of the same turn straight into CC?
@douglasleslie4004 ай бұрын
@@stephencarroll5508 Not once it has been bounced. It has to remain offboard until the next game turn
