Have you seen lots of this type of videos? When tourists get yelled at, have you ever, ever seen anyone apologise for their behaviour? I attended this place recently because of channels such as this one. I was really eager to see The King's Guards. When we attended (March 2023), there weren't too many tourists around and I just filmed some of The King's Guards. No one touched the reins. I was way too shy to actually go up and pet the horse, but I did thank The Guard. I have a Playlist of the channels who film this type of behaviour. On one hand, there are so many tourists who just want to learn things and are keen to film stuff without getting in the way. I have seen so many of these vidoes, but there is one or two which showcase the woman actually picking up a child. I do not know anything about this woman, other than what she has been like in front of the camera. I do not know her reasoning for acting this way, but I think that she was under the impression that she was doing something right and in her mind, she probably thought that her intentions were good. I also don't know what London was like in 1952, but I am sure that it would be fair to say that no one would ever laugh at or ridicule a Guard. I am dismayed when people laugh at The Guards. They are not funny.

My grandfather who was a Grenadier Guard was stationed at Buckingham Palace in the time when the sentry boxes were outside the gates, the harassment was so bad they had to be placed inside the gates as they are now. I think some of the tourists think they are in Disneyland and the soldiers are just characters in a fairy story which they can touch, make fun of and generally act very disrespectfully to, not highly trained soldiers who have probably been on active service in Iraq or Afghanistan. I don't know who in their right mind would go abroad and physically touch a soldier or his horse, one day someone is going to get injured. Apart from her laugh driving me mad, I think the lady in question is lonely, I don't think she means any harm but it is highly irritating to the soldier and their horse to by constantly touched, but even words from the police don't seem to make any difference. Perhaps one of the senior solders should have a word?

I can’t understand why she is not arrested under section 5 or suspected of possibly causing a breach of the peace as she argues with the soldiers and police, which could cause members of the public alarm, harassment or distress, just nick her. I'm not British but I assume that the cops have already enough reason to arrest her. She spits on the horse and the soldier, watch at Minute 09:08. And yes, a horse tried to bite a little toddler on her arm once. So it is a question of time till something happens. I think, the parents will be surprised to hear that this Karen is not working there. In case a toddler gets kicked, they would probalby sue the palace and the manager.

She was served with a legal notice of trespass which meant she was not allowed on HorseGuards yard at all. It appears to have worked because up till HorseGuards closed down, she hadn’t been back. Hopefully that will continue once they re open.

She is a regular there. She does this all the time. The guards probably know her pretty well by now. I fear she truly believes, subconsciously or not, that this Military Museum is her own personal petting zoo! Its so uncomfortable to watch. Whenever she comes around the horses all sense the tension in her even though she smiles and laughs. Horses are really good about sensing chaos and disorder. In this situation though, these handlers are trained to sense also how the horses are handling it at the time and usually respond quietly and quickly before the #@&% hits the fan

She is very irresponsible. These horses are working. She is encouraging people and children to interfere with the duty of the horses and guards. Where is the liability if she looks 'official' and encourages and sometimes forces the working horses onto children and trusting visitors - who could potentially be hurt. I think the police need to loudly and publicly correct her behaviour consistently and make plain how 'unofficial' and dangerous her actions are - to embarass her to her 'audience' she is performing for.

Yup, and she has complained to the police that the guards are being cruel to the horses by sitting on them for an hour at a time. This was last summer so she's been there coming up to a year at least. i have an idea she works with someone taking videos of her because every so often she looks at someone in the crowd and plays up to a camera, I've even seen the same video on a channel [can't remember the name though] and the bloke taking the video was egging her on to touch the horse. Maybe they're making money from KZbin/TickTock because videos with her in them seem to garner more views than those of just the guards.

The girl in the long blue coat with the sun glasses on her head starting at 1:17 knows horses. Shows the back of her hand and lets the horse take the lead. She knows where to scratch and what the horse will like. The horse responds to her soft touch and probably her soft voice. The woman who seems the self appointed cruise director has been a lot of other videos. Some with a pink turban. She is a real pain.

This is one of the many reasons the horse and guard need to have a perimeter rope around them. The woman is completely unaware about the horse, the guard, and even other tourists. Something has to change and SOON.

you are right, but when the horse spooks, it doesn't have a way to escape, that's the problem. I don't think there is a simple solution, besides take her out of the environment and start to give the lady a ban, or retributions as penalty's.

It would be very easy to do, would give plenty of space and would be safe. At guard change the rope could be opened to enable horse and rider to move back within the main square. I'm not talking a 2 foot space but as the tourists have to stand behind the bollards the cordon would be from right of the horse to the bollards back down to the left of the box. Very safe for the horse and guard and would not allow the tourists to get near the guard

@@AllieCat58 You can not put a rope across a public footpath, the tourists do NOT have to stand behind the bollards , it is suggested that they do but they not not Have to and obviously never do. The simple solution is to keep the horses and guard inside the archway and of the footpath, this will be better for the horses and guard as well as keeping the public away from the horses.
