I understand the need to protest about issues but their needs to be boundaries put up and protection around the area during these events. I have watched events like marathons, cars zipping by playing loud music, protests of all kinds and their seems to be very little safe guards put in place along the road and around the horses. I hope that in the future more safe guards are put into place and less tolerence of drunkards, crazy people etc are rectified i.e immediate removal from premises, tresspass notices issues. New laws and legislation need to created in order for this to happen. People are getting crazier and bolder and protection around the Kings horses and the Kings guards need to updated.

If they were called upon to protect the king or a royal family member whos life was in danger they wouldnt hesitate, i saw one horse guard swing his sword at a guy who broke ranks and ran onto the mall when the queen was coming through in a procession. The police swiftly followed and arrested the guy, i doubt he would of swung the sword like that if it was a blunt blade.

i'm not English but my theory is most of this is steeped in historical tradition and is for show only. He would never use the saber on a citizen (or would he?) it's all for the tourists, LOTS of them, but back in the day they were very very important and this is how they are being honored to remember that. I can't help but wonder how hard it is for these horses to stand that long. And yes, I am a horse owner.That's just my thought.
