He's a very intelligent man so articulate and well spoken, you could listen to him for long periods of time.

His autobiography is an extremely good read. No giving it the big one, just intelligence and and interesting story to tell.

I can attest to fear and fatigue wresting out bad decisions with weapons. I’ve been fortunate, but each time I have one, I marvel, almost to the point of tears, for these brave men who are put under the pressures that they are. 99.9% of the time, because of training and mental preparedness, they perform “on point”. I mourn for them for that one incidence of “humanity”, for I know a shadow of what they go through and I honestly don’t know how they do it. Slow salute sir.

While it is incredible that a very few personnel actually make it into the SAS, it is even more incredible that those who spend the bulk of their career in the Regiment (some for as much as 20 years) they have maintained that standard of fitness and readiness for the just about the entire time.

To me, this is the calm intelligent understated persona I expect for a member of our special services. The likes of Andy McNab, Chris Ryan and Ant Middleton just make me cringe with embarrassment.

Understandable but soldiers need to make money after service bud they have just made the most out of it, even if they may have to act like an A lister every now and then they still passed that insane selection that most of us would never respect them.
