U.S. Marine Corps CLB-6 Engineer Company
Various pictures and short videos from my platoon’s deployment. As combat engineers, our mission was to build fortified outposts around the area of Fallujah and provide explosive demolitions support. We built over 15 fortified bases using rough carpentry. The bases consisted of fortified bunkers and fortified housing complete with electricity, air conditioning and concertina wire. Most missions lasted 1 - 3 weeks consisting of 16-hour workdays in 45c temperatures while wearing armored vests, no showers and rationed food. We also conducted various demolition and route clearance missions using C4, TNT, cratering and shape charges. Route clearance missions consisted of sweeping the sides of roads with mine sweepers for IEDs. I was 21 years old at the time. The music is from 2007 and cannot be removed, sorry if it’s copyright.
