Iraqi Army M80 Helmet Liner Replacement

In this video I test to see if a US issued 1980s era clip-in helmet liner for the M1 helmet will fit in my captured Iraqi M80 helmet. Come along and see the results.

Super cool souvenir brother, how did you go about capturing this helmet if you don't mind me asking. The story is always the best part of the piece. It is really neat to see the assembly from our helmets fit the Iraqis version of the m1 perfectly

It was laying on the pavement/tarmac next to a truck, like a GAZ type open back truck, that got hit, I'm guessing by Apaches because of all the holes. The fuel had caught fire and everything was pretty nasty. A couple, maybe three guys didn't make it off the truck in time. At first I just thought the helmet had been loose in the truck and got knocked out when it was hit but later I realized it had biological stuff in and on it, so I had to wash it off and get rid of all the nasty interior stuff. Nothing heroic on my part, I just picked up dude's helmet after he didn't need it anymore. LOL.

I don't think I'll put that one on. The last guy that wore it had pretty bad luck, LOL!

Can I insert m80 helmet to an empty M1 steel pot? Used it as liner?

I don't think it will fit but now that you ask I am going to have to try it out later. I'll let you know!

Because I was wanted to buy this m80 but south Korean version for experiment at home, I had post WW2 M1 steel pot empty without liner because M1 liner are pretty hard to find in south east Asia so I just think why not using m80 since its looks a bit small and had similar look to M1 liner
