Lol this is legit what my comment was going to be about. In Canada gun laws are super strict, though according to Canadian law single shot muzzle loading firearms, are not considered firearms meaning you can carry flint, match, wheel, or even fuse lock guns. The reason this is the case is because when the law was implemented they didn't want to piss off all the gun owners so thought this would minimize the political impact which it did. My brother & I made some black powder & we are going to make a hand cannon, hand bombard, as well as a mounted cannon & shoot those. It's just cold right now in the winter & don't feel like doing it now. We made a single shot pen projectile that shoots pellets though we're going to cast our own lead balls to shoot with the hand cannon & with the mounted cannon we will be shooting a packet of pellets like a shotgun & than move onto single projectiles like small cannon balls (since we don't want to spend a crap load of money on massive amounts of ingredients for black powder, you cant buy them in bulk in Canada). Last summer we were forging swords & the sort, now we're moving onto guns. Though we did get some nice forging supplies for this year, we got a bunch of scrap copper & are going to attempt to cast a bronze sword. Since it's winter we've just been making a lot of chain mail armour sheets. idk what you call them, it's a square of clad steel loops put together, we have no idea how to form them to fit a body.

I feel like revolvers are going through the same thing bolt actions are....there's DEFINITELY a market for them, but nowadays with all the other options you have most people look at modern autoloaders and think, "why not just get that?". But revolvers or bolt guns being obsolete? No way in hell...not for a very long time...
@BravoGorilla6 жыл бұрын
That's the thing. I'm not John Wick. I'm not a Navy Seal. I'm not getting into gunfights at Costco. There's nothing wrong with carrying more rounds or a faster reload, but this idea that you may as well go unarmed if you don't have a red dot, flashlight, and at least a 19 round magazine with a 33 round reload is ridiculous. What I've always been told is your gun needs to hold at least 5 rounds, you need to have at least 10 rounds on you, and you need to be able to make hits on target accurately first and quickly second. A revolver can do that same as an autoloader.
@Deaddriftbum6 жыл бұрын
What gas gun option matches or exceeds the inherent accuracy built into a bolt action system? Unless you give specifics your comparison is inaccurate. As far as revolvers and semi auto pistols yes you would be correct. Why carry a revolver over a semi auto other than you like it

I totally agree with your point about revolvers and autoloaders. I think bolt action rifles will be more relevant in the future than the revolvers. 9mm/40s&w carry revolvers are much better. Heres the reasons..... 38spl out of a 3 inch barrel gets smoked by 200% by a 9mm out of the same length barrel. The best gun is the one you carry comfortably. I've carried for over 40 years n have tried every conceivable fashion. I am a Glock fan as a retired professional within my skill set. Folks whom choose to ccw/cpl legally, I commend you all. As more eyes amongst the audience the better the chances of being backed up theoretically speaking. As we all are the audience soft targets for those who feed off that objective status. Firearms are much like fishing, it depends upon the weather n your environment. An which you shoot weekly or biweekly. If you ever get involved in a questionable self defense. The first 5 minutes the DA will exploit that fact that you ccw/cpl for self defense, yet you didn't nor sought additional training nor documented range time on a biweekly basis. You soon will realize that you're having the playing field leveled abruptly. It's that initiative question the DA has just entertained in the jurors possibilities. NEVER EVER, alter your ccw/cpl carry guns. Train with the same carry weapon, n practice drawing from stressful circumstances. I'd say stay with single stack semi automatic with night sights Always. You are almost guaranteed to have your weak arm out in front while drawing your gun. Still think you don't need one in the pipe n cocked? If you're not comfortable with that circumstance. Get additional training until you do. I can guarantee in most instances, you Will Not be able to rack the slide n click off your safety. I've known cases after cases, that unfortunately ended with the ccw/cpl carrier was unable to defend themselves. Pack Smart, not Dead imho.

I never understand when someone says a safety will get you killed.....and they go on to say training will help you drawing the gun and aiming and pulling the trigger but yet the process of clicking off the safety cant be overcome by training. I say training with a safety prepares you just like training prepared you for drawing, aiming and firing. I dont know why we cant say its better to have a gun, safety or NOT, than not having a gun at all when its needed. The fact a gun has a safety is not the issue....if it was...then why... Military trains with safeties and most of their guns have safeties and have for decades.... If a person cant handle a safety on a pistol, why is a safety on a shotgun or rifle a good thing. I have not been in a shoot out. The ones ive seen on video dont often show a quick response as key as well as concealment was key. The big advantage comes because the perp didnt know or expect you to have a gun. Once a person decides to use their gun in real life, from drawing out of civilian clothes to firing is one process and if you have a safety, you trained it as part of your process. Militray has for decades. I pull my gun, short gun or long gun, my mind never consciously thinks about the safety, it happens automatically

@@johnmccarty8941 Hey John, my apologies for the latest in viewing your question. I primarily ccw a Sig P938 with finger n extra round with night sites n a hoagie grip as I like rubber grips. If out n about in hot weather I often go with a NAA Black Widow 22mag. I have a NAA 22mag custom Pug as well around my neck but rarely. I pack 24/7/365 even at home n if going to church I carry additional mags. I do like my glock 27 in 40mm, as well as my Kimber Ultra Covert 45acp single stack. My buds got me a retirement gift a HK MP540 with the works. My favorite outfit hands down. I carry ccw mostly as pocket gun, one in the pipe n cocked. Don't underestimate a 22mag gut mouse gun. Only down fall is its 5 shot gut gun. 97% gun exchanges happen at 8ft or closer.
@tyclark81624 жыл бұрын
@@francostacy7675 Wise statement Franco. It's just the way I choose to ccw/cpl today after 40 some yrs. In most self defense incidents, the number one conflict with rapid deployment of one's ccw is they either don't click off the selector, or two the weren't able to rack a live round while being attacked. Every incident n person having their adrenaline hit their system is generally going to affect their response to coordinate the process of both imho. I encourage everyone to get 100 % proficient with one type of ccw/cpl method they feel comfortable training with n sticking to such method. In my experiences, most sudden attacks against good people take place to close n most people will respond with one hand in contact to warn off a attacker. Leaving ones strong arm n hand to successfully draw n fire under extreme duress. Having one in the pipe n cocked with safety engaged imho the way to ccw/cpl. Many will disagree with that specific ccw/cpl method. If you don't feel confident with such method you probably need more training till you do so imo. Not everyone is comfortable with that type of preparedness, be veryyy confident with one you personally feel comfortable with imo. I have n know manyyy that retrained for that option, as sudden violence against another individual generally happens extremely fast. Action is always faster than reaction. It just puts a ccw/cpl holder at a advantage under such circumstances if trained properly. Drawing n get on target you can do in the comfort of your home with several different techniques available. I use a time counter for such, drawing in several types of clothing n body positioning techniques as well. Any training is much better than none.

People love high capacity guns (as do I) but nobody ever needs anything more than 5 rounds for carry purposes
@prycenewberg39765 жыл бұрын
@@jamesbarrick3403 Pardon me for being overly literal. "[N]obody ever needs anything more than 5 rounds..." This is false. The utility of carrying guns with capacities in excess of 5 rounds most certainly is a topic for debate, but I like the stance taken by Clint Smith, "No one in a fight ever complained about having too much ammo." Do I think more than 30 to be excessive? Yes. My personal stance is to carry a minimum of 1 reload (be it magazine or revolver's speed-loader) which puts me anywhere from ten rounds total to seventeen. If I had a double-stack 9mm, I would probably carry more than 30 rounds (if I stuck to my "1 reload" policy).
