Idk I've come close to buying them a few times but the reviews always scare me off. Too many complaining about manufacturing defects and other issues after minor use. They seem to be good when they work, but they seem to work about half of the time. Seems like customer service is pretty spotty as well.

how much is the gun & ammo compared to something like a .22lr?
@randytrashcan
@randytrashcan Жыл бұрын
@@RichardCranium321 The Blitz can be had on sale around $700. Quality .30 pellets are going to run 15cpr, but good slugs from NSA can be found for 10-12cpr. If you're looking for a budget fun gun, grab a Hatsan Flash in .22. It will almost certainly shoot better than you can at sub-MOA accuracy *if* you tune it right. The Flash on sale is around $250ish and quality pellets will run you about 4cpr max.
@RichardCranium321
@RichardCranium321 Жыл бұрын
@@randytrashcan the flash sound nice. Whats the average FPS of that .22? I'm assuming it has enough energy to harvest small game? Grouse, Quail, squirrel, rabbit maybe.
@randytrashcan
@randytrashcan Жыл бұрын
@@RichardCranium321 More than enough for small game, yes. My Flash is tuned to fire in the 880 to 920 FPS range, which is the upper limits of the speed you *want* out of a pellet. 860 FPS is the speed where most pellets (depending on a number of variables) will start to fly wild. You'd want slugs past that point. Note that pellet guns are inherently far less powerful than rifles cartridges, and the real goal is accuracy and silence. You'll have absolutely no issues taking squirrels with a .22 pellet provided your shot is good.

Have had 2 of these, they avg between 750-800fps. Not great, but enough to kill deer on full-send mode at the cranium. Here it's legal to hunt with here in my area and last yr took out a small 112lb whitetail doe with 1 4 round burst right to the noodle container. It dropped where it stood and didnt even so much as flinch, just keeled over deader than a doornail instantly. It's quiet, the does that were in her group didnt really notice something was up. They definitely heard it, but were not spooked. I bought it specifically for coyote hunting but having seen what it does to them, I kicked it up a notch and it didnt disappoint.

Airguns like this and especially paintball guns are super expensive compared to firearms. Your standard tournament grade paintball gun starts at 850-1200 (anything less than 1000 is technically mid range) and some go up to 25-3000 but those have limited run milling and are collectors items. The hottest high end paintball gun right now is the Planet Eclipse Ego LV.2 for 1600. Those prices don't include the air tank and loader which is another 400
@JT-vy4iw
@JT-vy4iw Жыл бұрын
@@AcidGambit419 I’ve played professional paintball against a few Tennessee college teams. I know all about paintball costs which has nothing to do with this video. Air rifles in my opinion will eventually make 22 rim fires obsolete. I feel like you can easily fine tune an air rifle vs having to run several different types of ammo and several different grains of 22 to get a consistent shot ( 1/4 inch at 25-50 yards)

Pro-tip from someone with a few Hatsans: Recrown the barrel. These things will surprise you. They are not the pellet guns you grew up with. I've got a Flash in .22 I picked up on sale for $250. Recrowned the barrel (they're admittedly pretty crude from the factory), swapped the baffles for some 3D printed ones, and polished the trigger. It'll break at 8oz crisp. I've got mine tuned for the 18gr JSBs, and it'll group consistently just a hair under 1/2 MOA at 50 yards. Absolutely bonkers. It's unironically my favorite rifle. It doesn't cost a dollar per round, nor do I have to drive an hour to a range on a day off to shoot it. That said, unless you're willing to dive deep into airguns and tinkering, stay the hell away from Hatsan springers. Their PCPs are mostly fine, but I cannot recommend the Flash rifles enough. Those are a safe bet ten out of ten times.

I've been having a growing interest in airguns lately. These things are starting to push muzzle energies comparable to some smaller handgun cartridges while being completely legal to be suppressed, full auto, etc and you don't even need to go through the time and effort as you would for an actual firearm. I've only got 2 actual guns because it's an absolute pain in the ass to go thru all that shit, having to drive an hour to the nearest gun store, spend like an hour there waiting for the background check, then finally getting the gun and having to drive an hour back home again.

A pellet gun for self defense would be the ultimate gun, assuming you can achieve legitimate lethality. Skirts all the annoying regulation of existing laws regarding barrel length, sound suppression, select fire, carry, etc. Would be the ideal weapon for city people consider apartment living. The airgun equivalent of an AR/Glock would be a killer product.

How could you attach a night vision scope. Armadillos are nocturnal.

I have the Hatsan Blitz .30 cal... I got 2 Tuxing 700 cc carbon fiber bottles, AND the FX adapter made by "Saber Tactical," and I have a 2 bottle bottle BLITZ. I also have a Donny fl Fatboy 2 supr*ssor with the extra 2 inch extension on it... I took the stock and cut off the stock BUTTSTOCK and put on one of my folding buttstock adapters that have for my powder burners... and put a buffer tube with a cough cough... you know, lol. I supercharged the interns and the BEST PART that you can buy for the BLITZ. Is the 32-round extended rotary mags!!!!! It is basically 2 of the sock mags worth in a MUCH larger rotary mag! the only thing is, the 32-round extended rotary mags are pretty hard to get right now!! They are basically sold out everywhere. I bought 5 of them on a "pre-sale" and had to wait MONTHS to get them. But the wait IS MUCH WORTH IT for the blitz!! the 1st thing you should buy for the Blitz, BESIDES A TON of pellets and slugs lol... THE EXTENDED 32 ROUND rotary mags!!! YOU can thank me later, lol
