Garrett Basta Unfortunately Jeff is right. Personal preference aside, the Scar is a piece of crap. I love the Scar personally, but i would never touch one for any purpose other than as a range toy. Probably the most fun I have ever had shooting a rifle. But... It is a poorly designed piece of very expensive junk. The reciprocating charging handle gets caught on your support hand, I’ve seen the thing have 4 failures of different types in under 60 rounds with good ammo. The thing is super accurate, but i would never trust my life to it.
@elestromusicgamesfun11014 жыл бұрын
Ok guys. My initial post is my subjective opinions about looks. I think it's a beautiful rifle. I have no idea how it performs, though FN herstal has a great reputation and my nation are using modded FN-rifles (FNC) as our standard issue military rifle.
@nickkoftime96304 жыл бұрын
Elestro Air-soft. I agree that the Scar is beautiful. I also love FN products, they are usually some of the best. I tend to look at FN a lot like I look at H&K. They make great products (for the most part), but are very expensive for what they are. The FAL is one of my favorite rifles. It is not as ergonomic as the Scar. The Fal is also way heavier and more bulky than the Scar, but overall, i think it is a better rifle.

You guys mentioned Irish Enfields, as matter of interest I saw a huge amount of those here in Ireland back in 1990. My father served in the Irish Defence Forces an I got a tour of a weapons store. There were thousands of firearms wrapped and never used. Various models of Enfield's, Webley revolvers, Mauser c-96's, Lugers and much more. In 2012 I was doing some research for my degree and got to visit another such store. Brens, FN FAL's and No.4 Enfields by the score, many never used. I was like a kid in a candy store.

(eventually I will inherit Dad's, which was passed down to him after getting a scope and Monte Carlo stock. Will probably replace scope as it's from the '60s) Wild Card- My "dream gun" Springfield Armory Professional 1911
@davewilson25596 жыл бұрын
I just bought a SCAR and I plan on buying a Professional in a few weeks. Half tempted to be cheap and get the TRP but it's just not the same. Years ago I wanted to own everything and I was going for quantity over quality, but after almost 2 decades of experience I realize that quality is far better than quantity. Owning a ton of guns is a logistical nightmare since they take up a lot of space and you have to buy ammo for several different calibers. Not only that but if you shoot tons of different guns on a regular basis I feel that you'll never master any of them. As boring as it is I think it's far better to train with only a few of your favorites and get scary good with them.

I just started getting into milsurps and recently bought a Mosin M91/59..... beautiful rifle, my favorite rifle that I have so far... Thanx Eric for turning me on to these beautiful pieces of history....
@Nostradankus7 жыл бұрын
It's funny to hear Erik talk about the Mosin vs K31 debate, because in Switzerland the K31 fills the same spot as the Mosin does in the US: It's dirt cheap, usually between 100 and 200 Swiss Franks for a standard MilSurp version and you can find them in the dozens in any given gun store. Ammo is plentiful because the obligatory shooting for the military can be done with any standard issue rifle, past or present. The ammo isn't as cheap as it could be however because it is a full size rifle-bullet after all. The guns are also obtainable without a gun permit if you are a swiss citizen and haven't committed any violent crimes. And because of all of this combined with the amazing reliability and accuracy there is also a huge aftermarket for mods, from old MilSurp diopters and cleaning kits all the way to high-tech polymer stocks. The only issue is that spare magazines are hard to come by and can be almost as expensive as the rifle itself because they were only issues with one magazine attached and no spares.
I almost put my CZ75 SP-01 Tactical on my list but went with the KT PMR-30 instead just for the fun factor! 30 rounds of 22WMR in a handgun that weighs LESS than a loaded AR-15 magazine is some serious fun!!!

SHTF choices to have with me. Chosen for not only quality, performance etc. but also based upon how common the ammunition is and their ease of use. Ruger 10/22 model 21133 w/ suppressor (22 ammo is available anywhere, even in anti-gun advocates houses ffs) Remington 700 customized for 300+ yards. (.308 is a lighter caliber than the 30.06 and any higher caliber rifles and still packs a mean punch from a long distance) Mossberg 500 12 gauge w/ collapsible stock. (12 gauge ammo is readily available and easy to find and would put anything or anyone down in close quarters. collapsible stock for ease of use indoors.) Sig P227 ( Simply because it is my favorite pistol to date. ) Ruger Mini-14 newer model with a collapsible stock, mid range scope elevated above the irons. (Takes 223 and 556 which are also very common calibers and the min-14 can eat any kind of ammo including cheap steel cased ammo like pussy with no problems. Go ahead and flame me for that choice but if you've never put one to the test you just don't know their capabilities.) Wild card: AA-12 automatic shotgun. Short, Medium, Med/Longer distances and this shotgun is devastating. No recoil. The amount of lead it puts out gives me a hard on. That is really the only reason why it's my wildcard lol.

cope_dipper you know it's funny because I don't like the desert tan on any other gun, just the SCAR. To me a grey SCAR is like a blaze orange AR.. you just don't do it. Same thing for polymer on an AK, wood all the way.

You know, I came across your show on youtube and fell in love with it right away. I love hearing you guys talk and discuss different guns and other topics too. I used to be a gun owner but had to sell my guns due to personal reasons. I'm about to get back into shooting and owning some guns again. I get overwhelmed sometimes when you guys talk guns because I have never heard of some of the guns you talk about lol. I'll keep watching and hopefully learn some things along the way.

I tried to sell Lone wolf on the idea, but they said they quit making the 9" barrel and weren't interested

I don't feel like I've fired enough guns enough times to have a top five, but my favorite gun to shoot is my Ithaca Model 37 Defense 8 shot. It looks like an old police shotgun and works well... Loads and ejects from the bottom... it just feels good to shoot and handle. Man, I love that gun.
@Kman31ca8 жыл бұрын
K 31 is my absolute favourite rifle to shoot. Just something about the feel, and working that straight pull bolt. Also I've got a highly customized Type 97. With the flattop and custom lower, with the new trigger, redesigned bolt release. Very fun gun, and decently accurate for yotes. Then the Jungle Carbine Enfield. After that is my Sako 85 in a BnC stock fully bedded. Shoots cloverleafs consistently with my rounds I made for it. Heck even cheap factory shoots good as well. Fluted stainless barrel in 7mag. Have laid down some giant Mulies with that rifle at over 500 yards. Including a 198 net monster buck. Last but not least, is my savage 17hmr. That thing has killed more gophers than have probably been run over in my province. Just one of those utterly accurate, nice spring day. Parking the truck with a few boxes of ammo, and just blasting gophers for hours on end with a nice cold beer. Ya, you shouldn't drink when using firearms, but I make the exception when gopher blasting. Relaxing as hell, and great for practising fundamentals. Plus I've been doing it since I was 8 yo so it's just one of them activities to start the spring off, and lots of fond memories.

Remington model 58, Cattleman's carbine built on the 1858 revolver platform, 1851 .44, 1858 six inch police 36. All my favorite Black powder revolvers. Almost every.36 caliber pocket police models. Ease of operation and maintenance is why they are my personal choices. I would love to have a sharps 45-110,or 45-70 rifle. My other favorite would be almost anything lever action. Savage 22wmr bolt action.

I definitely gravitate towards military / military surplus firearms.My Top Five (in no particular order and one wildcard) 5. M1 Carbine - Historical, handy, and fun to shoot. Great for backyard plinking. 4. BRNO K98k Israeli Mauser in 7.62x51mm NATO. Historical, bizarre, fun to shoot. Waffenamt stamp marks (eagle and swastika) and Hebrew characters on the same rifle! 3. Colt Python - It's beautiful to look at. Smooth trigger and accurate. Always gets attention at the range. 2. M1867/96 Danish Rolling Block - Big, long, heavy, anachronistic, but very soft shooting. Black powder is always a blast. 1. AR15 A2 - Yeah, I know - nothing fancy, but this was the first rifle I ever bought and owned. No frills, just A2 completely stock / unchanged... and I love it that way. Wildcard: M1898 Krag-Jorgensen - Historical, quirky, uncommon. The smoothest cock on open bolt action ever. Fun to shoot.

Favorite guns are like beautiful women and good wine. They 0:03 get better with age. I am probably a bit older than most of your viewers so I’m sure my favs are a little different. My number one gun is a single shot bolt action Winchester Mod 37 youth size. I bought that rifle from a neighbor in March of 1952 for my sixth (6) birthday. It took me from Nov. 1951 to my birthday to buy that rifle for $5.00 dollars. Still have it after 70+ years. I had to wait to 1964 and on the day of my 18th Birthday I bought a Savage Mod 24 o/u rifle/ shotgun (22l/r over 410. ($39.00). That was it until I got out of the service. In 1972 I bought a Rem. 870 with four barrels ( a 20 in Deer. , 26in vent rib improved cylinder choke, 30in vent rib full choke , 34in vent rib full choke. All ordered from Remington for just a tad over $300.00 ( how things have changed. In 1972 I had a chance to go to the Northwest part of the country for a Big Horn Sheep. Picking a flat shooter of the I ordered a Remington 700 BDL 20-06 with a long varmint heavy barrel and them put on a sling and a Redfield 6 x 18 variable scope. ( That rig cost $425.00. $160.00 rifle-$275.00 scope. Never made the hint but did use it as Sniper Rife on my department SWATT unit. My next few came a bit late. A really nice old leather rig for a 1911. I traded six packs of gringo cigarette’s for the belt, holster,and mag pouch. He offered his sister for more smokes but when I wasn’t interested he says maybe You likey the gun from the holster I said I diddent have a sister but I did have more cigarettes six more packe of cigarettes and I got a 1911 looking Obregón 45acp pistol The I got into law enforcement. For revolver I carried a nice Colt Trooper until we could go semi auto. I pulled out a first issue Ruger P 85 and a Ruger. P9 Carbine that I carried until I quit after 47 years. Wild Cards ? I have a few hundred. Ruger Bearcat in 22 to New Mode Super Blackhawks in 44mag To many Colt ,Smiths, Remingtons, Rugers, Savage s, 0:03 0:03 Marlins, and other name not usually heard these days. Recently newBe safe 0:03 to your channel. Wine - Women and guns. You are missing the women. Let’s see the ladies favorites. Keep up the good work and be safe. Miss Barry

Rifle list 1. Mossberg Patriot in 450 bushmaster with short barrel 2. Remington 783 in 223 Remington 3. Marlin XT-17 in 17 hmr 4.Remington 597 in 22 lr 5. Remington 870 express magnum in 12ga Pistol list 1. Ruger 22/45 mark iv in 22lr 2. Kimber 1911 in 45 3. Browning buck mark in 22lr 4. Canik TP9 in 9mm 5. Ruger SR9 in 9mm These are my favorite shooters, it is a little biased as these guns are what I have bought myself and I haven’t tried a few different kinds of guns such as an AR etc. Anyways these are my favorites from hunting to plinking to self defense (emphasis on plinking it’s what I love to do with my cousin). Love my rim fires, that’s what I started on and it grew. Love my hunting rifles just got a 450 as they are legal in Michigan now and got into the 223 as it was cheap to shoot and am so impressed by the accuracy and range along with the 17 hmr being the same. And as for the pistols I love plinking not really big on home defense that’s why 2 are 22lr’s and the rest are just a few we have picked up and the 1911 is there because of the cool factor and the kick and accuracy with the krimson trace sight.

I’ve been watching all your videos catching up on the ones I’ve missed for the last year now… and yes at first it was Barry that kept me looking for more but then Eric‘s manners and knowledge really started to grow on me. Then I found out That you’re both musicians I guess Eric collects guitars and Chad is a bass player. I really appreciate the passion that you both bring to the table and you have taught me much. I would love to meet your parents and I have an endless desire to know How do you ever came to finance such a large and sassy collection of guns much less guitars not to mention the land you have in Georgia which isn’t known as a real wealthy state because I too collect both firearms and music instruments. It’s not the cheapest hobby. I literally have to kill myself to get to my next want/need/gun/guitar. I just don’t know how you do it but man I wish I lived down the street from you. I remain fascinated kudos to your parents. I can’t imagine breaking into a musical discussion and finding out your taste. Thanks for the great job and keep up the great work RIP Barry.
