Great video! Super helpful. What I noticed was at 13:10 the guy was moving his upper body instead of his hips. Same as the rider at 16:50 his moves his whole body upwards instead his hip back. Am I right? Just trying to clearify it for myself. Keep posting those videos, we learn a lot. Tnx
@IRCTireUSAMoto2 күн бұрын
You want as little upper body movement as possible!
@tigerrider67112 күн бұрын
Hips are almost the only thing that matter. Any amount of pulling with your arms or upper body is not going to work and tire you, notice how he is mainly throwing his weight back and forth and only pulling back with straight arms. That’s where the novices burn all their energy, trying to use biceps and shoulders.

How do you throttle on at the same time as front brake? I feel like my fingers aren’t long enough.

I tried it several times, but it works pretty good with my Beta trial bike. With the Husqvarna FE 350 (4stroke) it is almost impossible. There I have to stay on the gas throttle.

I always find body front and back taking too much time. Focusing on only moving body back makes it easier. Is it correct?

Depends on the situation

Another awesome explanation. Thanks, Rich! But quick question: what's the relationship between this technique and the "load the flywheel" technique a lot of your earlier videos emphasized. Are there times when you want to load the flywheel and release the clutch with the throttle on, versus this technique, where you come off the throttle before releasing the clutch?
@IRCTireUSAMoto4 күн бұрын
Hill climbs I’d be loading and keeping the throttle on. The majority of obstacles I’d be turning the throttle off, then releasing the clutch as I go up the face
@spookyroofus4 күн бұрын
@@IRCTireUSAMoto Makes sense! Big thanks again.
@spookyroofus4 күн бұрын
@@IRCTireUSAMoto What about pivot turns, when you need the front end a lot higher than you do on a typical obstacle? Ok to keep the throttle on while releasing the clutch on a pivot turn, or is the goal to get so good at the "on/off out/in" technique that it works for pivot turns, too?
@IRCTireUSAMoto3 күн бұрын
I would use on off out in to get the front into the air then transition to steady delivery of clutch and throttle together
@spookyroofus3 күн бұрын
@@IRCTireUSAMoto Thanks! That's exactly what I'm doing on my trials bike. I was worried I wasn't doing it quite correctly because of my need for throttle after the tires in the air through the on/off out in. Really appreciate your help!

As soon as I make the lift, my arms get tense and I lose throttle and clutch control 😢 should I try to pull or just relax the arms?

Sounds like you’re trying to use your upper body. This is all done with the lower half hips and legs.
